Added RPI to the OP. Louisiana Tech has the highest RPI at 69, followed by LSU at 76, and Louisiana at 80

This is a good thread, very detailed and informative

Nowhere near as good as the basketball one was.
What I find interesting is Southeastern's RPI (130) with 22 wins. They're going to have to schedule much better. If you play in the Southland, you can't have a Non-Conf SOS of 221. It should go way up over the next few weeks if they keep winning, but they'll most likely be back on the bubble.
By comparison, Sam Houston St has 21 wins and a Non-Conf SOS of 66 and their RPI is all the way up there at 42.

It's easier for the Southland schools in Texas to schedule better though. Just due to geography.
Southeastern doesn't have the opportunity to play a ton of high quality mid week games. And they're hampered in scheduling by being a "name" in a shite conference. They should be trying to get some Big 10 or MVC schools to play at their place early in the season though. Scheduling UCONN was a good move. Scheduling SIUE is like a weekend against the SWAC.

You have to look for those teams who have good records in bad conferences for those early year weekend series. OWP counts for 50% of the formula so it's not that big of a deal who they're beating up on.

Burdman was out here doing the lord’s work with the season long basketball thread. Would be unreasonable to expect someone to put that much effort into college baseball. While It is a popular sport, especially in this state, there’s so many more games to keep up with.
Riser is doing a phenomenal at Southeastern IMO, really want to see Tulane bring him home. Jewett is doing such a shitty job with our pitching staff and our program is declining.

Going into the season we should have had a solid RPI. It’s the 5 losses to teams with a 200+ RPI that’s killing us. Doesn’t help that right now LSU, ULL, and Tulane are so low (relative to where they normally are). Moo State and USA aren’t helping much either.

LSU moved up 16 spots on the Warren Nolan RPI after getting a road win at A&M last night. I don't know who else played last night that could have helped with the bump, but I assume the majority of it is coming from the A&M game itself. They moved from 81 to 65.

Tech wins first game at UTSA, 8-7. Came back from being down 5-0. There was some very poor pitching tonight.

Can the Cajuns do it? Can they get their first weekend series win of the season?

And the Cajuns get their first series win of the year, 4-2
