Warhawks win on a walkoff grand slam which also means the Warhawks win the series against Arkansas State! Pretty nice bounce back after that embarrassing game last night

So besides Coastal Carolina, who is the next best team in the Sun Belt? Georgia Southern seems pretty good, and Little Rock and UT Arlington aren’t bad, and Troy has a good overall record. Can’t forget about South Alabama either

So what you're asking is, "who is the third best team in the Sun Belt?"

You never state that Costal is considered the best so we have to assume that they are second best for the sake of your argument... and that we must exclude them to say "if Costal didn't exist, who would be second best?"

Regardless... you can look at the standings here and make that decision for yourself.

Or I can try and make discussion because that’s what this board was created for. I’ve already looked at the standings and looking at standings 2 weeks into conference play can be deceiving. I don’t think Georgia is one of the top 2 teams in the SEC just because them and Vandy have the best SEC records and Georgia has the second highest RPI in the SEC so why would I just look at the standings?

Ummm because those standings show overall records as well which gives you more of an indication of which is the better team... not just who has been better in conference.

I’m actually tempted to put ULL into that mix as well. The pitching is there to make a run through the sun belt tourney

I agree. ULL has the talent and coaches to make it happen. This is also another reason why you can’t base who the next best team in the conference is after 2 weeks of conference play by looking at standings because ULL is currently sitting at 5th place in the western division with a 2-4 conference record and a 10-13 overall record. ULM has a better record than ULL at 3-3 in conference play and a 13-10 overall record. I don’t think ULM is better than ULL and they won’t finish higher than ULL

In the east...I'd say Florida is pretty damn solid at 21-5, especially after coming off a series win against a strong Arkansas team (17-7) at home and with series wins @ Miami, @ South Carolina, and a single game win vs. #5 Florida State.

As for the SEC as a whole... hard to argue that Ole Miss at 22-3 isn't the top of the class... a sweep against Tulane, a series victory at Long Beach State... and a series victory at A&M.

Wild that I got all that info from following a LINK on a standings page.

But shouldn’t Georgia be the front runner since they’re first place in the east?
