It wasn't negative but surreal. Querbes in Shreveport. Playing with my son who was then 25. I hit my tee shot into the trunk of a big tree 50 yards on the left. It ricocheted back to me. Bounced, rolled, landed 6 inches from my wooden tee.
I was in total silence. Then my son said "Dad, that kind of stuff only happens in cartoons."

You need to be getting your money's worth out of those damn wedges bro.

Was playing a local course here in Tennessee one day and was hitting my first shot on a par 3 when I struck a power line that went across the fairway and it fired back at me so hard I had to stop it with my hand or it would have hit the guys waiting behind us.

Did you get fitted for your wedges? Reason I ask is because I just did this on Saturday, and I never realized all of the little things that make a big difference in getting the right wedges.
Turned out I needed wedges with low bounce and the same shafts as my irons (DG R300). I took some swings with a wedge on the lie board and the Titleist guy measured where I made contact each time. Most of the time I was hitting on the back of the sole, which means I am a "slider" and need low bounce. Hit a couple of wedges with low bounce and they felt amazing.

I hit more greens with a six iron in my hand than I do wedges. FML

I played a tourney this weekend and on #11 a par four with a large creek running along side the left side of the fairway I hit a tee shot so bad it was actually left of the water and landed on dry ground. I grabbed my clubs and walked a mile to get to the ball. hit a a most glorious six iron over aforest and on to the back of hte green and saved par.
Then on the next hole I was 87 yards out after a beautiful drive down the fairway and pulled it into the bunker. that is my game in a nutshell

It seems like that isn't the first time that has happened on that hole. Once it gets on the path it is always going to do that same thing.
