The umpiring has fallen off the planet. Pitches that are so far outside the batter would need a bat 1 1/2 times as long as their current bat to get close to reaching the ball and the umpire calls a strike. That last called strike was even worse. Baseball needs to go to an AI ump.

I don’t understand the need for everything to be volunteer. Umpires should be paid, and they should perform at a commensurate level

I am not in little league's corner right now or any more. Volunteering used to be the honorable thing to do. Now, with the money and viewer attracting players not getting a dime and most everyone else volunteering it just means that there are a handful of LL people and one judge that are getting rich off of this event.

This umpire is terrible. The last two pitches Boudreaux threw were the exact same spot. One he called a ball, one a strike.

When can the runner leave the bag? Upon pitcher release or ball over the plate? I don’t remember.

Have you ever seen a timeout to review and determine when the ball crosses the plate? Would you want that to be another call these horrible umps are responsible for?
