Didn't really follow so I could be wrong, but...

Didn't Montana beat Cali (sending Cali into the losers bracket) , then Cali came back to beat Montana once, eliminating them? How is that fair? Shouldn't Cali have to beat Montana twice...or am I missing something?

Same thing happened with japan/Mexico...I don't like it either, but that's how it's set up.

Well that sucks. They both finished with 1loss (to each other). Should be a tie-breaker imo

I think they're just trying to keep the pitchers from overworking their arms. The team that comes through the losers' bracket already has to play a few extra games so there's still a penalty for losing early.

I've watched the games. Cali threw out their best pitcher to win the US Championship over Montana. USA teams that do that usually stink in the final.

You need to save your best pitcher for the Japs who are far and away the best team every year. Half their team can pitch well; they crowd the plate, force you into mistakes and score before you know it.

Japan will win it with about 6 runs in the first two innings. Cali didn't need to waste their pitcher on Montana.

Yes it is. When they have lost, it has been an upset.

I've watched it pretty consistently this last decade. They replaced Taiwan as the power. Deal with it.

Not every year. But they are THIS year.
