They can either be Head Coaches, Defensive Coordinators, or any Defensive Assistant Coaches at any School.

1)?
2)?
3)?
4)?
5)?

(Disclaimer: My D Coordinator would not make any top 5 list. So for all the Rantards who claim I only desire to pump my School, bite me...)

Saban, Chavis, Dantonio, Gary Patterson, Ellis Johnson, BVG, and some say overrated but you still have to respect bud foster.

Those are among my favorites

how close is gary patterson to the discussion? I know TCU had a down year but he's pretty well regarded defensively huh?

You could always add Montee but his defenses in college have been less than spectacular.

I had a gut feeling Rantards like you would attempt to claim that. No, rather I only put in that disclaimer as I did because if I had not, I would of got 100 ranter posts saying, "It's not Oregon" or "you're only here to pump Oregon" bla, bla, bla.

yeah based on his pro resume, I guess you'd have to.

here's a name that fell off: Jon Tenuta

I have Gary Patterson down as my #2 guy. He has lead the Nation several times in it or been really close. His special 4-2-5 is quite amazing!

I'd say Dantonio is a definite top 5. Produced some of the best Ohio State defenses and is still producing great defenses at Sparty.

yeah dantonio is a really good defensive guy

one guy i thought would be a lot more successful at a big school was justin wilcox. i'm curious what he does at U-dub

and speaking of U-dub, the rant had about 10,000 collective orgasms over holt a couple years back

So is he better than Saban or Chavis?

Actually, I used that word and came up with it on my own quite a while before I saw anyone elts on here use it. It was not to hard to see why...Just look around. You call them a ranter and they come out and fight ya in droves.
