Just heard this morning that the Knicks may match the offer and use his expiring contract as a trade asset in 2 years

BS. He knew the last yr would be a killer for the Knicks.

Makes zero sense. Unless he becomes on the level of D-Will. Lin is set to make $25 mill in yr 3 of that contract (right?)...seems like a liability rather than an asset. No team will want to pick that up unless he keeps improving (and I hope he does!)

He's scheduled to make $14.8M in year three, not 25.

A $25 million expiring contract is an asset. But the Knicks would have to find a team with the cap space to take on a contract like that.

Edit: just saw he's supposed to make $14.8 million in year 3 which makes a trade even more likely

the miraculous play and luck of a 4th string PG against a schedule of the worst teams in the league for a month means the future looks bright?
I'm not saying the future is bright, but 4th string PG?

Morey was an idiot to let Dragic walk and then sign Lin (a very unproven player) to an offer sheet just $2 million short of Dragic's deal with the Suns

I don't think Dragic is THAT much better than Lin to offset the financial difference that will come with having Lin on the team.

Probably referring to his start with the Knicks. He was 4th string, then everyone got hurt, then D'Antoni said they sucked so bad that they let him play, and he took off.

Lin put up some very good numbers against some good teams with little to no game experience in the NBA. All indications point to his being young and having the potential to improve. Not sure what the deal is with MSB hipsters and their need to shite on everything ESPN talks about for more than 20 seconds.

Nah I just think its hypocritical for Lin to say he wants to stay w/ Knicks but agree to a contract that puts the Knicks in a very tough place if they decide to keep him.

I think Melo was talking about the majority of the $$ in the last yr when he commented that the contract was ridiculous. I don;t think he meant that Lin didn't deserve the $.

I've seen some Knicks fans refer to Felton and Kidd as "Fat and Drunk"

I'll believe it at midnight.

MSG's stock dropped 60 cents already, causing a loss of about 49 million dollars in market capitalization.
