also I want to mention the St. Aug/EJ game Friday night... you have to know Coach Salt to appreciate him, and the next two weeks will be the biggest in EJ football history

i saw EJ play belle chasse earlier this year and TBH i wasn't very impressed with them.. i think that St. Aug wins this one

I guess that also has to factor in with Coach Roth REFUSING to pass and always running the damn ball.

The criticism Jay gets from some of ya'll is ridiculous......

He brought the Rummel program to places it had not been before and keeps it there.

Since Tierny left shaw - the folks on severn have owned the catholic league..

Rummel had exactly ONE semifinal appearance before Jay... Jay's dad.....in 82...

I think the intriguing game of the weekend is American Heritage (Del Ray, Fl.) vs. West Monroe. American Heritage is ranked in the top 50 in the country and has a 5 star and No.2 ranked running back in the nation. They are 7-0 in 3A in Florida (probably more like 4A here) and have won 2 of the last 3 state championships over there. And West Monroe schedules them for homecoming. Want to see what the West Monroe D does against their back....

Rummel and Jesuit are both undefeated in 5-A correct?

Which will leave only two teams left after they play... and no one is mentioning the mighty South Lafourche Tarpons as they are the third undefeated team in 5-A

I certainly don't believe them to be on the talant level as private NOLA schools, but after watching them play I believe they will contend with anyone. I highly doubt anyone plays college ball from this team either.

Stone is out last I heard which is huge. Mims is a bit banged up as well. I like WM in this game due to AH traveling from Florida, they're a running team, and are only bringing 44 players. WM is too big and physical and will wear them down. 24-7 WM IMO.

Are you talking about Redemptorist's 7th/8th grade team? My 8th grader plays for PBS. They had Redemptorist 46-0 at half Tuesday night. They had absolutely nothing. I'm not sure about which two boys you'd be referring.

Kid that played WR is pretty solid and QB wasn't bad - they were however overmatched and overwhelmed..... and I think both are 7th graders.

not that either kid would be in the rotation of the same positions at PBS or Uhigh. or st aloysius.

nostradamus.. I heard that "big time" player from school D... left?

Correct. He was transferred out to a boarding school. Hope he can get his academics in order so he can come back home.

I don't really know if it really matters. I know he didn't want to leave, and I do know his parents will continue to do what they think is best.
