Last two years people said this about Rummel and Jesuit walked away with the W. I think they are consistently looked over and sneak up to beat people with organization an smart play.team full of "intangibles" and "locker room guys" lol

Anybody seen Rummel and WM play? If so, who do you think will win if they meet in the dome?

Rummel wins easily.

Also, Ouachita Parish is probably going to bring 3 of 5 state championships back this year again...

Maybe 1 of 3, the other two are coming to metro New Orleans.

i'm pretty sure last year Jesuit was the favorite going in... they were in the top 100 and Rummel was not

this year Rummel is in the top 100 and Jesuit is not

Losing this guy's defense (and timely offense) will be the difference. I think Rummel wins this one

also I want to mention the St. Aug/EJ game Friday night... you have to know Coach Salt to appreciate him, and the next two weeks will be the biggest in EJ football history

Charlie Brown's black friend.

No seriously, between Morgan City and New Iberia. Don't know why they're even playing. Is that who they're playing?

Yes it's in the swamp.

Only thing I'm basing this off of is St. Amant beating Central who beat Catholic.

That is Central's only loss of the year and it happened at the Pit.

I sincerely believe that it's difficult to compare the current Bears to the team that lost to Central over a month ago. Catholic has averaged almost 45 points per game since then, and first team offense has basically shut down its offense in 2nd half of all 3 district games. Since naming Coomes as starting QB against Parkview (Coomes tied Major Applewhite single game record of 5 TD passes) and inserting "spin series" offense, the Bears have been virtually unstoppable. The addition of Guice in lineup has forced defenses to have to account for two game breaking RBs! I've heard nothing but great things about St. Amant gators, so I'm expecting a great game!

nola.com had a prep football chat earlier today and I didn't even have to troll it for them to give McMain some pub and LINK

Comment From Stinky Pete
Who is the most under-talked about talent in the metro area (any sport)? Stinky Pete wants to know who to keep his eye on.

Kelly Morris, NOLA.com:
I really think that Carlos Henderson out of McDonogh 35 is an underrated prospect and Utah got a steal with him. Also, the Omari Jones/Michael Andrade/Khalil Smith trio out of McMain is starting to make some noise. Keep your eye on those guys Stinky Pete.

Comment From JJ
Ok, I am writing down both of your picks right now for who you think will win in each classification, now give a darkhorse in each class that you think could make a run that no one expects.

Andrew Lopez/Kelly Morris:
Dark horses .. here we go:

5A - St. Paul's
4A - St. Augustine
3A - McMain (maybe not a finals run but a the Mustangs have a deep run in them because that offense can play with anyone)
2A - Let's be honest - Evangel and Calvary are the dark horses.
1A - Haynesville - You can never overlook a Coach Franklin team.
