Captain Shreve is ranked 8th in the 5A power ratings. I hope they can manage to win the game tonight! Before my freshman year in 94', Shreve held like a 12-3 record over byrd. We won that year to go to 13-3 in the series and then proceeded to lose like 13 straight. It was kinda like LSU vs bama there for a while. Shreve has only won a few since, but I think they've got a shot tonight. The program is definitely on the upswing. Just got to start winning consistently and tonight's game will be a big step towards that. I'll draw another comparison, although Shreve ain't winning a state title anytime soon, that this is kinda like 03' vs Georgia where they can show that they're a contender. I'll be there tonight with my sons, hoping they can witness a Gator victory over the jackets.

Shreve's best days may be behind them. They are the last Shreveport public school to win state .... in 1973 lol. Byrd might even win, but it ain't gonna be going away 31-7 lol

I think U-High runs away with it. Only seen a little of both play but the talk is always how awesome U-High is.

Shreve goes 90 yds. on the first play for a TD. Byrd answers quickly with a pretty easy looking drive to tie it up 7-7.

Same play, different year for the gator defense. Can't seem to figure out the ole wing T from Byrd. Especially when the QB keeps it. Every time he kept it last year it went for 20. Pretty aggravating to watch that happen all night. Shreve is going to have to win a shootout if they don't get it figured out quick.

Byrd throws the ball for the first time all game on 3rd and 8 with 3 minutes left and converts. Time running out for Shreve. Another year, another disappointing heartbreaker against the yellow jackets. Best "rivalry" in Shreveport, but Shreve can't seem to get over the hump and do their part. Shreve gets the ball on their 25. 1 minute left.
