I know it’s a necessary evil with referee shortages, but I truly hate Thursday night high school games.

Especially at schools that don’t share a stadium

Is Chalmette the largest school to ever play at Rebel Stadium at Pearl River? This is a small stadium

I am with you. I have my fall weeks planned for Friday night. Doesn’t feel right when I go to work the next day.

It's also the evolving offenses that are better suited to 7 person crews. And years ago(when I first started) play clocks were rare. play clocks take another official.

pretty much every team state wide is playing a thursday game some 3-4(stadium issues)

Neville Ruston, St Amant EA, Haynesville Homer(the oldest continuous rivalry in LA), Hahnville Destrehan, all check in.

Only one rivalry once sent scouts to Western Pennsylvania to scout players, then offer their fathers oilfield jobs.

I would have been Class of 79 but was shipped off to boarding school for 10th grade.

Our Freshman year, we had the shame of losing Neville's first jamboree game. We were undefeated in regular season, but that didn't erase the shame.

33-21 Parkway over Byrd at halftime. Byrd can’t stop them on the ground.

Pearl river with the fake punt… incomplete pass… Chalmette called for roughing the passer (punter)

Punter was not hit late.

Significant penalty disparity in this game.

Rules question

FG attempted, ball kicked from 32. Partially blocked, lands and bounces around 10. Defense special teams eventually picks up abd tries to run it back but is tackled almost immediately and they take possession over at spot of tackle.,

If they would have let the ball bounce and no attempt to recover it, Wouk’s they take over at spot of kick?

The ball never went in the end zone so it’s still live… if we just let it lie there after being blocked and PR picked it up it’s 1st and goal them

So it’s treated like a kickoff and not a punt?

LINK

TLDR- the kicking team tries a game winning field goal but it’s blocked. They pick up the live ball and run it in for the game winning touchdown

But yeah that makes us 0 for 2 on the Northshore…

Luckily the rest of the district has been complete shite too

Probably will come down to us and Salmen for the district title in week 10

No it’s treated like a punt. Exactly like a punt.
