STM has the largest enrollment, 9-12, by a fair margin of all division 2 schools.

That’s actually not true. It’s just there are non-competing schools and schools that play up around them.

Rummel, Holy Cross, and St. Aug have higher enrollments but all elect to play play up.

Lee Magnet has a higher enrollment but is in their second year of JV only after just starting a FB program

Ben Franklin has a higher enrollment but doesn’t play district or for championship honors.

layoffs round 2/select quarterfinals by Antonio Moss
Your info is wrong. Curtis plays at Byrd. High seed always hosts in the select divisions

The data base ap that handles that has a glitch that is much easier to use manual entries rather than a rewrite , when the protocol has changed a few times recently. The schools know where they are playing ... which is what matters.

Regarding the online bracket

I hear St Aug and Holy Cross are dropping down next season to Div 2, which will be good for the division.

why would they, when they were all about restoring the Catholic League?

I’ve hear a little chatter about that but they could still and would still play the “other” catholic league teams in non districts

that would look so bad if they left the district while John Curtis with 1/3 the enrollment stays

What is really bad is that without teams playing up, there are only seven schools in Division I for male sports and six schools for female sports.

reflects a nationwide trend with parochial schools, especially in NO with rapidly evolving demographics...

fewer of the people that used to send their kids to parochial schools and they are having fewer kids....

That's not a a rule they made up for this game. That is a national high school nation wide rule for player safety. I believe if the kid has that type of talent to make that play let him but, it is a safety rule in that if he lands wrong, or kicks the defender in he head, etc. there are so many issues if that happens in high school so the high school nation wide board made this rule as a personal foul, etc nothing the local guys calling this game with a stake to hurt the Raiders.
