The LHSAA is a PRINCIPALS ONLY organization. This is what they want. Leadership is only doing what they are told to do ... by the PRINCIPALS
Yeah, I know principals too. About 50 of them. LHSAA aint going anywhere. The courts have already ruled that they are a private orgnization. Cannot be legislated to act against their will. If a school doesnt like the rules, simple solution. Dont join
actually one local FEMALE principal... has a lot of pretty common sense measures.. that would solve a lot of the problems right now....but.. again.. when people hear..such and such wins.. in everything.. they cheat...

I'll be interested to see where Calvary, Curtis, ECA, and PBS end up. I can't see a catholic league wanting them in, they would be harassed in a public league, the LCSAA is too small for them, and I don't think the MPSA wants them in either.

CBA, PBS, ND, SCC would be welcomed... in no uncertain terms this is all about Curtis and ECA

Make it easy. Kid can go anywhere in the parish starting his freshman year. If he transfers to another school in the same parish he is ineligible the rest of his career. If he transfers outside of the parish he must be investigated. If the move is legit, he's eligible. If its a sports motivated move, he must sit 1 calendar year.
Now how hard was that and we don't have watered down bullshite titles.

That is so short sighted. So basically if the family realizes a school is not what they had hoped, the kid is punished.

transfers need to be handled on a case by case basis.... extreme family problems.. kid goes to live with another relative - out of safety and well being concerns.. that relative doesn't have custody... kid is ineligible... that is just wrong.....
kid goes to school x... doesn't make team.. transfers to school y... should not have to sit out....
every situation is different.. the kids need to be put ahead of all the other BS.. and the kids have not been put ahead since integration.

Meh, why would CBA want to play in a NOLA/BR league? ND would probably work because of I-10. The issue, and PBS realizes this, is that they are the next scapegoat when ECA and Curtis are gone and that is why they gave Moscana a hard time about not inviting Curtis to the private school meeting this spring.

You're killing me. If the "school" isn't what they expected they can leave and go elsewhere. No problems at all. They can't play sports anymore. If they want to play, move 10 miles to another parish and sit out a year. Do your research before blindly choosing a school.

I think that pretending that sports isn't a factor in a kids choice of school is stupid in the first place. If a school is accredited, it obviously is good enough to give a kid an education, so why does it matter if they went to a school to play baseball. They still have to pass and get an education. If a school gives out grades for nothing, they lose their SACS.

I wonder if they join a smaller league will they continue to get kids like they do? part of their appeal is being in THE LHSAA against the best (all) competition really

Talk to the coach before your freshman year. Don't just blindly say you're going to go somewhere.

You obviously don't work with kids.

You obviously work with a school that recruits.

As long as it is an irreputable place with an aged free popcorn machine.

So if a kid goes to a school and realizes that he isn't getting the attention he needs (special education, or the opposite, he needs an AP course load) he cannot play sports anymore?

And furthermore, I spoke to a mother of a child I coach who goes to an Orleans parish school, and she really regrets having sent her kid to their current school. She was amazed at how much her child is missing out on, and how she is worried her child will be behind when he goes to college. In your plan, that kid can't play sports again in high school if he leaves.
