West Monroe's D could hold them to less than 14pts.

Seems that this WM team is a well oiled machine and is ranked #17 in the USA Today.

WM has no athletes to match up with the speed of central... the same goes for any NLA school. Too much speed in the south (see all of last years state champs)

And you know #2 Veals is going to return something for a touchdown.

WM has never had the athletes that the teams in south Louisiana have had, but they win in the trenches, better coaching, superior weight program, and a better overall program. Central...who?

Jeffcoat. South Lafourche has a new head coach from Arkansas. He has these kids really believing right now. It is an amazing turn around.

God I hope you're 15 because this is such an ignorant statement. The great thing about it is we'll get to see it play out on the field.

Also, these aren't rankings. Guys on here asking why is this team ranked ahead of that team blah, blah, blah. It's a formula. You get 10 points for a win and 1 point for every win the team you beat has. For example, if you beat a 7-1 team you would receive 17 points for that game. You do this for every game and divide by total games played. If Rummel wins out they'll be #1 because WM has to play the 2 weakest teams on their schedule. Natchitoches Central and Pineville are a combined 2-14. Not WM's fault, but they'll probably only get 11 points for those 2 wins each. That will bring them down from their 15+ average for the year.

I totally agree... which is why the playoff system is better than the BCS.... I hope the two teams do meet and I hope its in the Dome.. Good luck throughout the playoffs

JJ I've seen you post a couple of times about power rankings so I assume you know more than most. Got a few questions???

1. Always heard playing up a classification works in a team's favor win or lose. Is that correct?

2. If so how does it affect the higher classification team like Acadiana and Dutchtown who both played Parkview? Acadiana loss big while Dutchtown won big...Now this week you have Central 5A taking on Capitol 2A...

3. How does power points work for a team who travels out of state and to take on a ranked team from a lower classification like when Catholic traveled to play Florida's top ranked 4A team Park Forest?

Westgate had a harder schedule. Plus they beat teams that were ranked high. (Breaux Bridge was #2) (Shaw was #3) (NISH was #10)

Hahnville, WM, Rummel and Barbe can... not to mention St. Pauls....

if what Central did after their TD was not celebration - nothing was... sad outcome.. but come on that was a good call... no guarantee Central wins in OT if they make PAT.....

st aug can probably stop them too..

Not to mention two touchdowns were called back due to blatant horrible calls... one in particular i remember it was a screen pass thrown behind the line of scrimmage... and they called offensive pass interference on a receiver down the field blocking.... now correct me if i am wrong but isnt a screen essentially a running play? soo how can their be offensive pass interference..?
