I keep seeing all these unbelievable/crazy stats about how truly awful they’ve been lately so I figured I would share some of them and let anyone else chime in

No team since 1900 has ever had as few as 15 runs and 48 hits in an 11-game span. Mets have hit an all-time historic low.

Jacob deGrom is the first pitcher since Randy Johnson of the 1999 D-backs to make 5 straight starts of 7+ IP and = 2 ER, and see his team lose each one.

The Mets have already lost seven starts where deGrom allowed one run or none. Ties the most for any starter ever (Roger Craig ’63, Drysdale ’64, Glavine ’03, Clemens ’05, Samardzija ’14).

Amongst everyone who has amassed at least double digit atbats this month, Todd Frazier has the highest batting average.

He's hitting .217

And yet still cashed as Espn Sunday night tv dog vs Judgeless Yanks..whom were but 9-9 to start the year.

Mets finding ways to waste quality starts by Wheeler, Degrom,etc..fast start has crashed and burned.

Has to be brutal for Mets fans but I don’t see how you keep deGrom

He’s 30 years old and he should bring back a HUGE package of talented prospects

You could say Thor should be kept during a rebuild because of young he is, but he’d bring back an even bigger return than deGrom

Look how quickly the White Sox loaded up their farm system. Question is...can Alderson make the right moves

I have zero faith in Alderson
Wish we go get someone from the Astros GM’s tree and start a real rebuild
Wilpon is still in the hole from madoff and they run the team like a bunch of old women

Fact is neither will be moved because the Mets will want an arm and a leg. DeGrom should be moved but he won't be, the Yankees make the most sense but reports from bloggers are they want either Gleyber or Andujar as a centerpiece and the Yankees are not making that move.

The guys on the ESPN telecast were talking about that during last night's Yankees-Nats game. Sutcliffe was saying he'd move Torres for DeGrom and referenced the the fact that the last three WS champions had made a big midseason trade for a pitcher (Cueto, Chapman and Verlander). I might think about Andujar, but I don't think the Yankees would entertain any move that includes Torres given his age, upside and how well he's playing.

Sort of a tough sell to your fans to trade away the prospective AL ROTY midseason.

Andujar is 23 plays a key position at 3B and has done more than held his own

Torres is 21 plays a key position at 2b/SS and has done more than held his own

The Yankees may trade one for a player like DeGrom but Steinbrenner sounds as if he won't move either.

quote:

Although, as Steinbrenner noted, he isn’t particularly keen on offering up any of the exciting youngsters who already have made an impact at the major-league level. Players like Gleyber Torres and Miguel Andujar might be necessary to get someone like the Mets’ Jacob deGrom.
“I love the young guys. Our fans love the young guys,” Steinbrenner said. “I think it’s obvious to all of us they’ve made a heck of an impact. To see Gleyber, Andujar and others right on the heels of [Aaron] Judge and [Gary] Sanchez and [Luis] Severino, that’s pretty amazing. Our fans were really enjoying watching them play. So am I.”

The Braves are a perfect trade partner for them except there's no way in hell they'd move deGrom within the division

Or to the Yankees think last year both teams refused to make a trade for Neil Walker

Rightfully so, he is one of the best pitchers in baseball and still under team control for 2 more years after this one, he isn't a rental.

Chris Sale trade should be a good idea of what they can get. Yankees I don't believe would have a problem including Florial for a pitcher like DeGrom.

Florial/Adams/Tyler Wade/Gred Bird

Let's do it

That's what the Marlins should have done with the Stanton trade but that seemed more like Jeter doing the Yankees a solid than anything else
