But I guess you can prove the current players knew about this right?
Who said anything about players. It's already on record that more than 4 people knew about this, so that line of thinking is stupid.

The money that the athletic department and football generates will help fund these lawsuits.

These are very different circumstances. Just bc those ppl in power didn't do what they should have we should give into mainstream media?
of course not, but i don't need mainstream media to help me come to my opinion. in fact, if anything espn, etc. and their constant, relentless smears usually to make me lean the other way but not in this situation.

You think only 4 people on that campus knew over a more than a decade coverup?
No one can prove or disprove that, other than what has already be told. I think more knew, but that doesn't matter. I also think the problem is gone.
But let's shutdown the football program bc you and I think more ppl were involved. No evidence necessary right?

At the very least I bet your not including the janitors in your tally of 4 people that knew. That is a fact, not speculation on my part. So that's already more than 4.

Take this bullshite line elsewhere, it means you don't have a response.

have you ever lived in Central Pennsylvania?
have you ever been a student at any Penn State campus?
the answer to both for me is yes...and that's why i'm so adamant about the death penalty because the insular culture with no accountability needs to be changed....

You said 4, I just went with it. I said other than what has already been reported.
I bet those janitors really helped the football program.
Would you shut down PSU the academic school if it were the president, or even the entire BOT? Yes or no?

Good thing it's not up to you then.

I'd highly consider it.
Bottom line is this cover up happened at multiple levels of the football program and AD, as well as PSU as a whole. And it was done to protect the program.
The NCAA must get involved.

You'd highly consider shutting down an academic institution. Take that shite elsewhere. That means you don't have to respond.

If their highest members are into farming young boys for rape, yea. frick them. There's plenty of other colleges in the nation.

The Death Penalty is the least of Penn State's problems right now.
There are several issues that could seriously threaten Penn State's accreditation status with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education:
1) Lack of oversight by top officials and the Board of Trustees
2) Non-compliance with the Clery Act
3) The lump-sum payment of $168,000 to Sandusky that was subsequently used to buy state property for the Second Mile.
4) Problems with PSU's background check process
5) Lack of consistent standards across departments and campuses.
6) Failure to implement documented policies and procedures.
Any one of these issues would be serious enough to place Penn State on probation. All of them together constitute a massive problem for Penn State's accreditation.

gawd, am i dealing with idiots here....
i'd shut the football program down for 2 or 3 years, work with the ncaa to let players transfer with no loss of eligibility and not count against the 85 scholarship limit (with a limit of how many can go to a particular school)
then i'd get rid of the entire atheltic administration staff and bring in outsiders...

resounding yes
To many talking heads on the sportz channelz are making this out to be a non-football incident that gave PSU no competitive advatage. I call Bull shite to that argument. One of the biggest recruiting draws was PSU's pristine image and the name brand. Without those they would be NW pen poly tech comm college. The cover up was to protect the Brand of PSU to keep recruiting higher profile players. Death to them good Sirs, and nothing short of 2 years w/no team 3 year game ban 5 year bowl ban. Let the kids transfer and play immediately.
