You have a buddy that went to college at Duke? That's impressive for him

Who really thought, coming out of college, he would ever have had the kind of impact he's had or ever been in the conversation for league MVP?

Seth Greenberg didn't. Had Stephen Curry dropped in his lap. Steph wanted to go to Va Tech and Greenberg said "no thanks."

Yeah who would ever believe that the 7th pick in the draft who had just taken college basketball by storm would ever amount to anything?

It's easy to blame Greenberg now because hindsight is always clear.

I know this thread has been completely ruined, but I actually agree. If people knew Steph Curry was going to be this good, he wouldn't have gone 7th in the draft behind players like Hasheem Thabeet, Ricky Rubio, Johnny Flynn, and Tyreke Evans. It's hilarious that three projected point guards were taken ahead of him. Two of those by the T-Wolves. Whoops.

I remember doing a little research for a march madness pool and saw that 10 seed Davidson had this cat who averaged like 25-26 ppg. So I took them as an upset over #2 Georgetown solely based on that. He was fun to watch, but I never thought he would be able to hold his own defensively in the NBA. Nor did I think he was quick enough to dominate like he has.

He is the most entertaining player in the game today. He is fricking mesmerizing. I don't think many people saw that coming.

To be fair, he looked like a 12 year old boy coming out of college

I'm still not sold on him defensively. He benefits from having 4 very good defenders around him most of the time. He is never asked to guard elite point guards for long stretches, and when he does, he struggles. But props to Kerr for hiding his flaws extremely well.

He still looks like a 12 year old boy too. That facial hair is pathetic.

I think a lot of people thought the potential was there, I mean he literally put Davidson on his back and carried them in the tourny. If anything, I think most people were concerned about his ankles (and still are).
