He honestly never ceases to amaze me. I thought his last peak year would be the 3-1 year. Everything else would be a slight decline.
Lebron is still in his prime, and playing just as good and in some ways better than he ever has in his career.
This is why the rings argument is always stupid to me. It insinuates that because a player did not win a championship, that their level of play clearly was lacking, and they did not elevate their team enough. That clearly does not apply to Lebron this year AT ALL. He is having an all-time great playoff season this year. You can't elevate a team much higher than what Lebron is doing with this Cavs team. Yet I'm still 99% sure that GS will prevail with another ring.
You have to be completely retarded to blame him losing in the finals to GS this year. But unfortunately, that is precisely what plenty of people will do.

Completely agree with your point for the reasons you stated, leading 2 separate franchises to 8 NBA Finals appearances is simply astounding and amazing in any context regardless of how people portray/describe it AND he played well in every Finals except the Mavs series. The rings argument never worked with me because it doesn't account for context and ultimately means that Jordan didn't advance to as many Finals as LeBron, he routinely lost in the East playoffs before the 90s and lost in 95 against the Magic and cost his team game 1 with 2 costly TOs in crunch time. ALSO, some of the teams LeBron lost to in the Finals are some of the greatest teams in the history of the NBA except Dallas whereas none of Jordan's Finals opponents except maybe the Lakers were objectively better teams than the Bulls those years. In the end the only argument for MJ over LeBron that works for me is LeBron choking in the Mavs Finals whereas MJ always brought it in the playoffs from day 1 and it was reflected in his series averages. I don't want to put too much weight on the Mavs series because it unfairly prejudices people but when two all-time players are competing for the GOAT spot sometimes those things make the ultimate difference BUT it could possibly be offset by LeBron's longevity in excellence and his incredible versatility on both ends due his build, let's face it LeBron's a basketball unicorn who's basically an evolutionary Magic Johnson, WE ALREADY SAW Michael Jordan's clone in Kobe, we'll probably see another Michael/Kobe somewhere down the line too. Simmons and Greek Freak are Bron's heirs because all 3 are freaks of athletic nature, they're not discovered that often, 6'6 2-guards are generally found every other year so the likelihood of finding an MJ clone is better than a LeBron clone, that's just facts and biology, y'all.

Ask Kyrie, Love or Bosh if LeBron elevates their level of play?

Kyrie's best basketball of his career was played along side Bron. Love never made the playoffs without Bron. Bosh never got out of the first round without Bron. With that said Bosh and Love did suffer stats wise but it's only because they were ISO guys as well as #1 options for their respective teams.

Surely you understand how teams with multiple stars operate, no? Is Kevin Durant a worse player in GS than he was in OKC, or does he just have less to do?
Love and Bosh had career best True Shooting % numbers playing alongside LeBron. Their usage was lower, obviously.
Kyrie continued to improve under LeBron and improved moving to Boston too.
Some of these guys want to be the man and don't want to take a backseat to a better player, which is fine, but the idea that LeBron didn't make life easier for them is dumb.

Seeing as none of those guys could've gotten championships on their own, I'd say yeah.

Mj would've had 45 points on 70%

Imagine being the type of person who has watched all LeBron has done this postseason and be bitter enough to not just say "he is greatness personified"

Dumbass comment, good thing Goldrush rebutted that effectively with his reply

He’s the MVP and it’s not close. We’ve seen Rockets be solid without Harden or with him playing poorly.
The Cavs are a 20 win team without LBJ.

The rest of the Cavs aren't that bad. The freakin Hawks won 24 games with Schroder as their leader.

And it’s not even a top 5 game of his 2018 playoffs (his 15th season).
So last night's game came in with a game score of 27.4. As good as that is, and it's very good, it was his 10th highest score of 15 post season games so far. It actually lowers his post season average.

How many games do you have the Cavs winnig if LBJ is off the roster? I’d say 30 max.
Posted on 5/22/18 at 10:17 am to okietiger
With him off the court for the season they were -.8 per 100 possession which translates to roughly 38 or 39 win team. People forget that they were better with him off the court than on for 90% of the season.

This is why we can't have nice things. Advanced stats don't tell the whole story. Like when LBJ goes out the other teams best player goes out too most times.
