I have no problem with a player or team saying they plan to win a championship. The two aren't comparable

I might like him more if he said something like this at the BEGINNING of the season.

To be fair, one of the criticisms against LeBron and Co. is that they proclaimed that they would win 6, 7, or 8 titles.

Just to be clear, I asked all the LeBron supporters what makes him so great, and your response is "Because a bunch of other people say he is"? A lot of political pundits and governors think Obama is a great president. Doesn't make it true.

Just like being awesome at jumping doesn't make you the best basketball player ever. Hell he's not even the best player on his own team.

saying we plan on winning it this year is fine especially with such a loaded team, 6, 7, or 8 is just getting back to why people don't like him. Now, If he said I would like to win 6,7, or 8...fine

he has to have the worst PR guy in the world

Oh, no doubt. I think he's his own PR guy sometimes.

He seems like one of those guys who's arrogant enough to think that he can defend himself in court, but who ultimately looks like a complete fool whenever he says anything.

rodney alcala and ted bundy come to mind

BTW, in a murder trial, defending yourself means you will cross examine a family member of the victim...guilty or not, a jury never likes this and you are sending yourself to death row

I didn't read the thread, but this is hilarious coming from the guy whos mom was getting smashed by Delonte West, baby's momma was getting smashed by Rashard Lewis, and was being sued by a man claiming to be his dad.

Yeah, and when he wakes up tomorrow, he'll still be an arrogant, preening loser with no championships who is reviled by most of America.

If this statement is true, then we've really fallen as a country.

There is absolutely no doubt about this. I also think just may not be very intelligent.

The biggest mistake he's made is surrounding himself by glorified street huslters and pimps to manage his multi-billion dollar brand. I don't hear about things coming from the "Rose Camp," or the "Wade Camp" the way you regularly hear about the "LeBron Camp."

What? Are you actually arguing that the United States is in a state of general decline merely because the majority of the populace justifiably dislikes some overrated, pompous gasbag of a basketball player? Huh?

Lebron is right. The hernia surgery I had a week ago is still giving me fits. I can move around and all, but the numbness in the scar area is still pissing me off. I guess since my 'unit' works, I shouldn't be too mad.

But the "king" is right, I wake up with the same problems. Woe is me.

The poster said, "reviled". And yes, if the majority of the country "reviles" someone whom they have never met and has caused absolutely no harm to anyone outside of Cleveland, then there are some serious problems.

I mean, Kobe got away with raping a chick. The majority of the country doesn't hate him for it, nor did they revile him after the fact.

So yeah, if "the majority of the country" can't think for themselves and "revile" a guy for reasons that aren't really justifiable, then we are in bad shape.
