the LBJ quote is a perfect glimpse into the ghetto mentality, that money is the highest achievement in life. they value material possessions, cars, flashy clothes, etc.. over any other value in life. Most of them did not grow up with fathers to teach them the right value system.
Its quite sad.

frick LeBron.
Miami Heat organization, in order to drum up more revenue, got their two new stars to do a promotional event with their current superstar. The only employee who received flack for this is one of the new guys.
Amazing.

I was watching a crappy crime show about some redneck named Bubba Dooley's murder ...the key witness asked the judge to get her a mcgriddle. Gotta love shreveport.

Too bad that his quote had nothing to do with money.

Sophandros, you're a smart person. So I'm a little surprised how can you not understand that "the big 3" celebration rubs fans the wrong way...they don't need to this to increase revenue, they just signed LeBron James and Chris Bosh to pair with Dwayne Wade...come on man. It is arrogance, and especially a day after "the decision" and regardless of whether it was him, his handlers, espn, or jehova's witnesses, he deserves all the flack in the world for the decision

No, I dont suffer from low self esteem at all. Someone has pulled up some previous posts of yours about the playoffs/James situation. Now thats some funny shite!!

I can see how it rubs some people the wrong way--and those are the same people who let sports radio think for them.

LeBron, Wade, and Bosh didn't organize the celebration and charge admission to it.

He deserves flack for exercising his rights as a free agent? Not in my book.
For how it all went down? It's been well chronicled that he was completely played the television program and interview.
Basically, I think that people are FAR too emotionally invested in James for all the wrong reasons.

If it automatically goes to that for you, then that's where you are in your life.
ETA: I say that because I don't think that LeBron is subtle enough to say things like that between the lines.

irrelevant...The Miami Heat CFO or President of Basketball operations are not on the stage celebrating with lights and confetti in a spectacle that is even bigger than a championship celebration...they said yes, they could have said no, and they seemed to be having the time of their life being showered with adoration.

It bothers me and the only radio show I listen to is Kaare Johnson. Just because it irritates you doesn't mean you're part of the idiotic masses. Big Chief and Cajun Cannon were on the radio...ok i switch during commercials...and bobby and deke have been echoing your exact sentiments...that doesn't mean they're smart or you're stupid...people have differing opinions, and it is more than fair for that celebration to annoy people

No one cany deny that the way chose to announce his decision and the pre-celebration wasn't cheesy.....but the continuous selective outrage and vitriol that LeBron continues to receive is obsessive. I know people who were not fans that are huge fans now only because they feel that the haters are out of control......they are a number of sports entertainers that have done worse than a chessy infomercial...but the level of hate and disdain for this guy is crazy off the charts.....

Sure they could have refused to do it. And then the same people who are bashing them would accuse them of not loving their fans or thinking that they're too good for their fans.

I'll never understand why some people care so much about defending a celebrity from hate. Is a lot of the Lebron hate irrational? Sure, but its still a non-issue. So much about being a fan is irrational in the first place, and sports is much better with villains whether its a team or a specific player.
The odd thing is Lebron is not a good villain. A good "bad guy" in sports will step on your fricking throat. That's not Lebron. He was utterly pathetic this series, a tragic figure almost.

I agree...I think the reason why is because he is not a bad person...he has done some cheesy stuff but not a bad person.......I think he wants to be liked where as a Kobe or a Bonds....those cats are Darth Vader incarnate......they really don't give a damn one way or another....

All you haters just aren't getting it. Professional athletes get paid a lot of money, and because of that we should be nice to all of them because they make more money than us.
Also OJ Simpson is more successful than me because he's made more money than me. Nevermind the fact that he's rotting in jail and I'm doing whatever I want to do every single day, he's more successful.
Oh and LeBron James is more successful than Bill Parcells because he has more money.
For those slobbering all over LeBron's knob in this thread, can any of you explain to me why you think he's so great? He's got a sub par NBA jumper but he's really good at dunking the ball and drawing fouls by flailing his arms and complaining. I'm supposed too be impressed with this? If this kind of play did anything for me I'd watch the high jump instead of basketball games.
