If your leg is laying the opposite direction than it should, how could it be only a dislocated patella?

His whole bottom leg was not located in the proper place.

OP is wrong. SC is saying dislocated KNEE, not kneecap. Google images and it looks similar to what we saw on field.

so, this is what Shaun Livingston had, right?

So that shows that you can recover from it

no way that dude only dislocated his knee. He had some sort of internal derangement.... PCL, ACL or meniscus had to be at least level II or level III tears. If he came out of that w/o a distal femur fx or a tibia plateau fx he is ridiculously lucky. Hope the best for the guy though.

Dislocated knee cap is still a very bad injury for RB's, quite a few have had careers end from that injury or were never anywhere near the same level of player after the injury.

Can you post some examples? I'd like to study up on it

Oct. 28, 2012 University of South Carolina junior running back Marcus Lattimore suffered a significant impact to the front of his right knee during the Tennessee game on Saturday. The ensuing hyperextension of the knee resulted in injury to several ligaments. There were no fractures or additional injuries, according to team physician Dr. Jeffrey Guy. Lattimore's surgically repaired left knee was uninjured during the play. Lattimore is resting comfortably and will continue to be evaluated over the course of the week. Marcus has already begun the process of prehabilitation prior to surgery and to his eventual return to football.

Damage could range. Femur could be broken at point something connects to it. Had a buddy dislocate his knee. Tore ACL mcl broke fibula and damaged nerve. 2 years ago and still not recovered. Still has drop foot from nerve damage.

yep. Very very good news that there was no bone damage on the x-rays.

I just hope the MRIs come back as good as possible.
