I was pretty indifferent to Bloomer. Seen him a million times, hated when he'd stink up a show but loved the responses he'd elicit from people.
The thing people underestimate is that he built a brand unlike anything seen in the dirt world. While every other driver had $20 t-shirts at their hauler he had an entire merchandise trailer charging $30 for a t-shirt, and the people were lined up happily paying it. He was 10 steps ahead of every other driver when it came to marketing himself. He moved the needle in a way I don't anybody else has since. Sure there are still superstars but they pale in comparison to the persona Scott built.
When I think of Scott I inevitably think of Eldora. The silver 25th anniversary car he smashed in hot laps and never even raced. Being light at the scales and the place going bananas. Getting sent to the tail for the window net and still damn near lapping the field. And his wild wreck at this year's Dream.
I hadn't planned on going to the World this year but I feel like I have to be there now to grieve with my family.

I have not returned since the topless where it rained, he put out they were going to roll it in and race, then once he got everybody in and they sold out the food he cancelled.
Shadiest thing ive ever seen but its Mooney so shouldn't have expected anything different.

I know people from Arkansas will disagree, but Scott is the best to ever do it. I’ve been around him a lot and raced with him for years. He was an a-hole most of the time but he made late model racing what it is today.
