It is not the park or the bats fault. The Pitching and Defense has been very good, if not great.

The best team there right now has only given up 5 runs in 7 games, with 2 runs in last 36 innings.

People were remarking all postseason long about how many more home runs we're having this season in regionals and super regionals. The pitching in the CWS has been tremendous.

No. Regionals and Supers had alot of runs, then CWS doesnt. What is the constant that changed? It isnt the pitchers.........

its the park

I've watched very little of the CWS this year and have seen 5 balls that the park swallowed up. Would have been no-doubters in 95% of college ballparks.

There are some great pitchers up there but the park keeps a lot of runs off of the board.

You guys are missing the point. The OP is saying for the same park, there is a drop off in Runs from last year to this year. Given that constant, what has changed. Yes, there is a difference in the park and most college stadiums. That is already known

We're comparing last year to this year though, not super regional parks to td ameritrade. Runs and home runs have been up this year compared to last year. The fact that runs are down at the CWS compared to last year is an indication of superior pitching

Gotcha I will say this, maybe it is me being older, but I no longer watch if LSU isnt in it. I used to be glued to the CWS. But something about this new park just seems off....

Actually it is not but buy into a false narrative.

If you have watched any of the games you would know the park has nothing to do with this.

Example of the great Pitching is oSu

Went to Clemson Regional, a place known to give up runs and gave up 4 runs in 3 games. They then went to Cola, a offensive park and gave up 2 runs. Now in Omaha they've given up 0 runs.

UCSB went into Louisville, a hitters park and gave up 5 runs and have given up 4 runs in Omaha.

Florida considered to have the best Pitching in the Country has given up 4 runs since the Regional Final and had 2 shutouts at home, a hitters park.

Without looking; which of these is TD Ameritrade and which is Alex Box?

Left Line – 335 ft
Left Center – 375 ft
Center Field – 408 ft
Right Center – 375 ft
Right Line - 335 ft

__________

Foul lines: 330 ft
Power alleys: 365 ft
Center: 405 ft
Height of fence: 10 ft

It's a self fulfilled prophecy. Guys are shorting up their swings a lot. You have not seen guys taking big, aggressive, linear swings. Even guys who are hitting balls to warning track are still staying back and really flat through the ball.

it has much less to do with the size of the field and more to do with TDA playing into the wind at all times. I don't know why people argue with this. It has the same dimensions as Rosenblatt did, yet home runs are almost non-existent now. Are you trying to tell me college teams just got that much better pitching overnight and it's just a big coincidence?

because they've watched how that park plays the last 5 years. there's no point in taking big aggressive swings if balls die in the outfield

Oklahoma State has been unbelievable, not just in Omaha. They were shutting out other teams in more hitter friendly parks.

The park is still the problem but teams that pitch and field it will probably win.

Yes College Pitching is a lot better than in the past.

Also Texas Tech is giving up more runs in post season than season average by a run.

They gave up 5 Sunday, which is a run above season average.
