i can't wait to see how this all turns out!!! M-1 wants to co-promote events and bring in the whole red devil team but co-promoting is not going to happen, unless in russia, but i could see them bringing in some top russian prospects. all in an effort to get a foothold in russia and eastern europe. aleks' recent comments about M-1 are verrry interesting, especially when coupled with m-1 comments of only wanting to "co-promote" events...
sounds like they are just trying to piggyback on the last emperor to me..???
hope he signs though and the sport benefits from his potential marketability.

I'm waiting for an announcement from Fedor today before I believe anything.

Is he having a presser today? If so, what time?

M-1's new "premium fight series," which debuts Aug. 28 in Los Angeles with "King" Mo Lawal vs. Don Frye, is also an option for the fighter. (M-1 President Vadim Finkelchtein is also Emelianenko's manager.)
This makes a lot more sense for Fedor's next fight. I think he's got a share in M-1.

jesus...well, can't say i'm shocked. Didn't really think Fedor would step up to the plate. Is he retarded, greedy, or unsure of his abilities in the cage?

Can't blame the guy for doing what's best for his wallet, and The UFC will still be there after August.

Wait, it looked like Fedor was coming to UFC and then things fell through??? Holy (exactly what always happens) batman. At what point does UFC just get fed up with it and say "frick it, we are done trying"?

And you know this how?
Do you know how much everyone is offering? Do you know he does not have a stake in M-1 Global? Do you know how much he makes in Sambo? Strikeforce doesn't overpay, but would they make an exception for him?
It's very possible he'll fight for M-1 global at the end of August, then sign a UFC deal to fight for their belt at say 108.

Easy, killer. This is from his manager during the last negotiations when he was a free agent:
quote:
Sherdog.com: As Fedor's manager, can you please fill us in on the current state of his contract negotiations.
VF: At the moment we are in negotiations with a number of organizations who have put offers on the table. I'll be blunt in saying that the UFC offer is the most financially attractive one. However they are very harsh in their terms and are not very flexible in actually negotiating them.

That's my point. How much of their terms bite into his wallet in other places. It's not just the fight purse. It's the number of things you can do to get paid.
My best guess. M-1 in August, World Sambo Championship in November, UFC in early 2010.
