The Bulldawgs top the Toppers 6-5 in game one.

9-8 cowboys. Making me nervous, but Pokes finding ways to plate runs.
SHSU a very error prone team.

Gunner Leger was scratched with a sore back. Cajuns lose 5-4. Stupid base running killed our streak. Gotta rally and win the series, a sweep would have really helped the RPI

What's up with Nick Lee? I have kept up but it seems like he dropped off a little bit from his hype. Hope he picks it back up, he graduated from my hs alma mater.

Cowboys should have won that game with the mistakes Sam made. Have to win at least 1 in this series to keep the conference lead. Would rather them just go win the damn series.

SLU got an 8 point bump in the RPI to move to 44, with Tulane, USM, and series against SHSU and Seton Hall, could potentially jump back into the 30's.
Any chance they could be a bubble team with a mid-30 RPI and a strong conference tournament performance?

Yeah, which is where losing game 3's to low RPI teams instead of sweeps comes back to bite them. Going to be a big game for SLU and Tulane this week.

I think a lot of teams have put them in the same scenario.
LSU is the only safe bet for the tournament at this point in the state.
McNeese still has work to do, because the committee will look for any reason to keep a Southland team from getting an at large. A few slip ups and they'll be staring down the barrel of needing to win the tournament.
Tulane has major work to do on their RPI and has a very rough schedule ahead. Fighting for a regular season championship in the AAC is huge, but last weekend was certainly a step back.
ULL is in pretty good shape RPI wise but a couple of slip ups could drop them in a hurry. UT-Arlington is in first place in the sun belt and those two teams are playing a double header tomorrow. It is incredible difficult to sweep a double header against a quality opponent, but the Cajuns kind of need to at this point.
LA Tech is still trying to overcome the brutal start to conference play. There aren't many RPI boosters left on the schedule and the smallest slip up will put them in a position where they would need to do major damage in the C-USA tourney.
A lot of teams have chances but there is a ton of work to be done in the state of Louisiana

Maybe not all LA related but I went through and made a sample field conference by conference, and it struck me just how much of the field came from P5 and the top 10 conferences overall...
Even the traditional baseball midmajors are having a rough go of it. The Big West in particular has fallen down the conference rankings. A lot of other midmajors better win their automatic bid or they'll be on the wrong side of the bubble come Memorial Day

The traditional mid-major powers are very average to poor this year.
Cal State Fullerton 25-14 2nd in Big West
Rice 17-26 8th in CUSA
Wichita State 21-22 5th in MVC
Pepperdine 17-23 7th in WCC
I do think Cal State Fullerton will be in a regional but the others are out minus a conference tourney win.
There are some very good mid-majors that I think can make some noise in the post-season this year.
McNeese 29-12
ULL 27-15
Missouri State 30-13
Long Beach State 27-14
Cal State Fullerton 25-14
Tennessee Tech 32-13
