Pretty unbelievable that Tulane is back to .500 after that horrific start, especially given the level of competition. I don't think an at-large is out of the question at all if this streak keeps up. Low 90's RPI with very strong games against the top 100 coming up. The key will be 1) winning the conference and 2) having a winning record.

A question if McNeese keeps this up... is it possible for them to finish in regional hosting range? Do they have the ballpark to bid on one?

I doubt they could actually host. "The Jeaux" only seats somewhere in the neighborhood of 2000. I don't think seating really comes into play, but that is a small ballpark.
Would be pretty cool if they did host though. I would almost bet if they did though, they'd be matched against a Top 4 national seed. Could you imagine a National Seed being upset, and McNeese winning their own regional? A Super Regional in Lake Charles?!?!
Too much season left for all that talk right now though. These boys still have work to do.

Pretty sure I led off with that, but go ahead and act like I said it was a foregone conclusion.
Do they have a chance? Sure. Is it at all likely? No. Pretty sure I made the case about their remaining schedule a page or so ago.
Their RPI is what it is because they are beating everyone they should. No losses against the RPI 101+. Their "worst" loss is against 92 RPI Tulane, who leads the AAC right now. The 4 games against Arizona are also bouying them.
Like I said before, they pretty much have to win out to maintain that RPI, and hope LSU, Arizona, Southeastern, and a few others keep playing well. They also need to grab a few wins in the midweek from Tech, ULL, or Houston. Having LSU-A on there doesn't help either; one less game towards the RPI.

Don't take this as a shot at McNeese at all. I really pull hard for the Cowboys and there is no leadoff man in the state of Louisiana that I would rather have than Robbie Podorsky.
However, this is what bothers me about RPI. Why should those four Arizona games help them? They lost all four of them by a combined 39-14 margin. No game was closer than five runs. RPI has got to be changed. It is rigged to help the big boys who play each other all the time. We don't feel the effects as much in Louisiana, because there is so much quality in-state baseball that you play during the midweeks.
But definitely a huge matchup in Ruston tonight for both teams. After this past weekend, Tech has their RPI back in the high-40s and this is one of the only NCAA-Tournament teams left on the schedule. The only other one could be Lafayette but their RPI is not great right now either.

Depending on which projections you look at, Sam Houston is a Tournament team, as well as Houston. Baseball America didn't even have ULL in last week. Tulane could most certainly be in. Tech hasn't been in any of the projections I have seen.
Too early to make any calls on who is in or who is out. Changes each week. Just have to play the games and win every one that you can.

I meant on Tech's schedule. McNeese is one of the only NCAA Tournament teams left on it, except maybe ULL.
Little bit of miscommunication.
LA Tech has zero margin for error the rest of the way after their start to conference play.

Ah, gotcha. That makes more sense. Yeah, I'll agree with you there.
Looks like Louisiana could have 5 or 6 tournament teams just as easily as it could have 1 or 0.
LSU seems right now to be the safest bet. McNeese, strange as it is, might be the next safest bet. Then ULL (need to win conference tournament most likely). Then SELU, LA Tech, and Tulane fall in.
But hell, all 6 could miss too. If LSU and McNeese fall on their faces in the final stretch, both could be out. If ULL falls back into what it was doing at the beginning of the season or fails to win the conference tournament, they're out. And the other 3 have to be damn near perfect or win their conference tournament to get in.

The RPI expert on raginpagin (he's an actual expert on it, he makes all the right calls and predicts RPI very well) said he thinks if the Cajuns go about 15-5 the rest of the way and win the Sun Belt regular season, we should be in a good spot for an at large.

Tulane is in the same boat as the Cajuns so tonight's game is important for both teams.

With 4 RPI Top 100 teams left, I guess there is a shot at that being the case.
It's an odd year when ULL needs a win over McNeese. Their conference schedule is not helping them at all this year. Six games against sub-200 RPI teams left (Same as McNeese).

I'm guessing Jack Burk will pitch tonight. He's been pitching pretty well lately so hopefully he can give the Cajuns a good chance to win tonight.

Jack pitching tomorrow

Heard on the radio this morning it's some other kid. Burk is pitching tomorrow night against SELU. The other fella (Evan something?) Pitched 4 innings this past weekend (maybe saturday?).

Evan Guillory. He's been a starter in the past, and real up and down. He's been good out of the bullpen though. I'm guessing he won't be able to go for very long. I'm guessing the plan is Guillory for a few, Huval to bridge the middle innings to hopefully get to Moore.

Guillory is pitching.
