Absolutely not. The next 17 games in a row are against Top 100 RPI teams. They keep on a tear and they can make up A LOT of RPI ground.
absolute minimum, they need to get into the low 60's. i'm not sure that can happen. the American did not do well OOC this year. if they win the American y 2+ games, maybe they get a look? and if they finish super hot? Houston was bad last year and finished hot, but they were left out, that is where ultimately I think we are headed. I hope not. at least the season is entertaining now.

If McNeese wins conference I think they'll be in a great position to get an at-large.
I'm assuming you mean if they win the regular season title and not the tournament title.
Hell, I'd rather finish second in the regular season and win the tournament.

I get what you are saying.
For any Southland team winning the tournament title is better than anything else because it is the only thing that guarantees a regional.
On the other hand, McNeese has a strong resume to gain an at-large.

The American is #5 league in RPI. I think they did pretty well OOC.
Tulane's RPI won't be good - but on the other hand, if they win the American, they will have a gaudy record against the top 50 and top 100...far better than many teams with RPI in the top 25. They've already played 16 games against the top 50, with 6 against Houston to come.
They will also have a losing record against the bottom 100, due to inconceivably bad play early in the year.
Tulane still has only 2 starting pitchers (Massey completely lost it and has been pitching just on the side). They have a difficult stretch coming up with 2 midweek games next week, then series against Houston. Difficult to keep this going with 2 starters.

watch the TCU/WVU series today, could be a feather in the cap of Tulane if WVU takes that from the frogs

Yeah, but of their 19 remaining games (counting today against UNO), only 1 is against an RPI Top 50, and 5 against teams with RPI between 51-100.
They have to at least split those 6, and win the other 13. They can't afford a lose against anyone with an RPI lower than 100 if they are going to ride that into the tournament.

I, selfishly, hope if McNeese makes it that they end up in FW regional.

And Tulane sweeps UCONN 6-5 in 12
Also with the win Tulane no longer has a losing record, which is pretty amazing considering where they were early in the year.

shite, I want them to go to a regional that they theoretically have a shot at. No way they beat TCU. At least in BR, they have a shot against LSU. The Tigers are so up and down with their play, McNeese could theoretically sneak away with a win or two.

Tulane takes sole possession of 1st place in the American with the win.
At 18-18, an at-large berth seems very unlikely. Tulane sits around 100 in RPI right now. Would probably have to get into the 40s or 50s in RPI and win the AAC regular season to have a shot at an at-large. I think 60th is the highest RPI ever to make the tournament as an at-large.
Nevertheless, Tulane is legitimately playing some of the best ball in the country. They started the season 3-12. Pretty unreal.

Good news for McNeese - SFA leading SHSU 6-2 in the 7th.

Yep, I told people that Tulane wasn't as bad as their record early in the year. I knew they had the talent others tried to argue the team had none.

The more I look at it, the more I think Tulane could get an at-large berth if they win the regular season title.
That would probably put their RPI in the 60s, which is high. However, it's pretty unique to see a team turnaround this much.
Connecticut, Houston, and South Florida all look like strong holds in the NCAA field at this point. If Tulane wins the conference with all those teams in it, I think you could make an argument that Tulane should be the 4th bid from the league.

I don't want any of LSUs starting pitching if it starts rolling and I live in Dallas, so I'd get to the see them

Wyatt Marks is a beast. 7 more strikeouts in 3 innings today.

Yea, if they win the league I think they have an outside shot

Demons snap 7 game SLC losing streak, defeat SLU 6-4.
Have a tough one against McNeese next week but then a significantly easier schedule to end the season. Hope this can ignite a run so we can get to the tourney.

Bad loss for SLU. They need a 3rd starter so bad
