I know it is very difficult not to use hindsight, but I was saying this based on Kareem's dominance in college alone.

This is the dumbest question ever. Charlotte would level Kentucky. The depth, experience, and "man strength" would be overwhelming.

Put Biyombo and one other Charlotte Starter on Louisville and Louisville beats KY, let alone a full NBA team.

This has to be the dumbest shite ever. There is no way UK could beat an NBA team. I'm a UK fan, and think the team is super talented, but no way am I delusional enough to think we could run an NBA team. Maybe some shitty Turkish level 2 team.

Hardly anyone thinks Kentucky would win a decent amount of times.

Almost everyone thinks Charlotte would win 99 out of 100 with many 30-40 point blowouts mixed in.

"Look, it's absurd," Van Gundy said. "People will say, 'Oh, Kentucky's got four NBA players.' Well, the other (NBA) teams have 13. …You play in the ACC and a good team might have two or three NBA players and then you go to the NBA and everybody's an NBA player. Look, talent level, experience, age the whole thing.

"Could anything happen on a one-night thing? I mean, I suppose," Van Gundy said. "You have major upsets all the time, so maybe. But it'd be rare. And in a series, it'd be a joke. It wouldn't be close. That's just the way it is. John Calipari's got a lot of talent. He does not have 13 NBA players. I mean, he just doesn't. And even if those guys all are, they're all NBA rookies. When has that ever been a success in the NBA? So no, they're not going to win."

Enough said.

1996 Kentucky would level this year's Kentucky and even they would get destroyed by this year's Bobcats team.

98 or 99 out of 100.

You'd have to see how much of an impact Davis would have on the game.

I agree that the 1996 team was better.

I have a brain, and I like to use my brain to formulate thoughts on my own. As such, I rarely see the need to appeal to the opinions of others to support my claims.

Such approval seeking is what morons do. And since you are quite clearly a goddamn moron, I can understand the attraction. I love trying to communicate with morons. So much fun.

Interesting. Gary Williams, Larry Brown, Jeff Goodman, Charles Barkley, and two basketball statisticians think Kentucky can beat an NBA team.

Larry Brown forgot more about basketball than Stan Van Gundy ever knew. Say hello to your mother for me.

Gary Williams thinks Kentucky can beat an NBA team. Additionally, say hello to your mother for me.

Ah, hall of famer Charles Barkley thinks Kentucky can beat an NBA team. Also, say hello to your mother for me.

LINK

Sportswriter Jeff Goodman thinks Kentucky can beat an NBA team. Oh, and case I forgot, please say hello to your mother for me.

LINK

Oh look, Kentucky would be favored at home against Charlotte. (Paging Gizmoflak!) Oh yes, please say hello to your mother for me.

LINK

Another stat-geek at Basketball Prospectus merely thinks that Kentucky would win one out of 7 times against Charlotte. Could you please pretty please say hello to your mother for me?

LINK

I'm sorry, who was it that was saying that Charlotte would win 99 times out of 100? I just wanted to mention that I didn't need a writer to inform you were a moron. I had already told you several times. 40 points? Were you making a goddamn joke?

Tuesday afternoon, they asked former Maryland coach Gary Williams to break the tie.

“I’ll tell you, you walk into some gyms — and that would be one of them, Rupp Arena — and you better be tough,” Williams said. “Regardless of how good you are, you can get taken right out of the game with the crowd. You just don’t feel right, you can’t play your game.

“I think one game at Rupp Arena, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Kentucky win one game. Because you’re gonna have five players off that team playing in the NBA, and probably playing significant roles in the NBA. And that’s why I say that, for one game.”

But what of Nene’s strength and experience, Sheehan asked.

“He’s got to cover [Anthony] Davis, and he’s gonna be covering Davis next year,” Williams said. “I mean, Kentucky’s athletic ability is as good as pro teams. They don’t have the [same] basketball experience, obviously, as a guy who’s played in the NBA, and maybe not quite as strong as a guy who’s 28, 29 years old.

“But in terms of being able to run the court and find the open people, you know, Kentucky runs good stuff. They get their best players shots. And unless you play great defense against that, I don’t care if you’re an NBA team or a college team, they’re going to be very difficult to stop. Now it’s one game. It’s one game.”

Let the record reflect that I seriously dislike playing the "quote other people's opinion" game on this question. But since apparently people are unable to look at the actual rosters and analyze this objectively -- as opposed to a ridiculous knee-jerk "conventional wisdom" answer that the NBA team would "win by 40" -- I have no choice but to stoop to this level.

Let the record reflect that nobody -- I repeat, nobody -- on this thread can name a player for the Bobcats that is better at basketball than either MKG or Davis. And yet this doesn't strike anybody as a rather important consideration.
