I just told someone to put a few on manny wah to hit the board. He’s inconsistent but sometimes fires at a big price.
It has nothing to do with the fact that I’m in love with the hunk of red and white horse at all…
I’m still mad mine came out gray

Anyone know of any specific events around the BR area taking place for the derby? I know Don Juan Cigar bar is having something. Beau Soleil supposedly as well though I’ve been able to find minimal details. Haven’t heard of much else. TIA

Any of em won on Mud/off track?
Hearing nothing about Smile Happy. Without digging too deep I might like him as a value pick.

His work the other day was actually good. Tiz broke off early so Cory waited and worked him alone. I think he ended up going in 48.
Supposedly got very washy this morning though, and it was in the 50s. Interested to see how he schools in a crowd.

Let's see
I think Charge It, Smile Happy, and Run Happy trained in mud --- maybe a couple of others
Rattle N Roll ran in light mud
Zandon ran in medium mud at the Blue Grass Stakes that's why everyone likes him- plus he has power
This derby will be about power , not a super speeder
You guessed it --- because of the mud
Taiba light mud at Santa Anita -- that is why they may be using blinkers (good call)
Tawney Port light mud at Lexington Stakes
And then the reason I was looking hard at MoDonegal- he ran in heavy mud at Wood Memorial
Hard track to run plus hard mud
There you go

Hmmmm. Thanks.
Is anybody getting Racing on FS1 this week? I don't see it on the schedule and can't believe they are not on every second every day. It's freakin Derby week!
I like to hear what The Mig/Wolfendale think.

I was hoping to get Mo Donegal at reasonable odds but I can see him and Zandon taking alot of money now.

Lonestar in Dallas ran a 2 horse stakes races last week
it ended up being a really good match race
I wish they would run match races like in the old days. I guess they prefer to breed, but Id love to see some match races between former top horses.
Looking at the PP's, I dont see how this isnt epicenters race.

Any way on TwinSpires to bet the race early or have to wait till race day?

He's been looking real good. Definitely has had that swag of a champion. He seems to know he's a bad dude!

Is it reasonable to assume the mud will be softer the further you get from the rail?
Posted on 5/4/22 at 3:45 pm to Purpleblooded
I think the betting opens up on Friday --- because if a horse is to scratch by Friday a backup can take the spot
That would be Rattle N Roll
or Rich Strike
Friday bets are on

They show racing on fs2
But you should be able to get it on YouTube
Search for Americas day at the races on live stream

That Clement turf horse just won jogging

I think at the very worst it will be good for the derby. I think fast though.
A lot of tracks scrape the rail for big days to get faster times, but Churchill doesn’t usually do it.
I hate that there’s a turf race before the derby and they water and groom so far ahead of the derby. It just sits for like an hour and a half drying out and getting tiring (just my opinion).
