I’m old enough to remember when they didn’t use an auxiliary gate. I think it was 2020 when they made a longer primary gate.

ETA: My Uncle helped weld the auxiliary gate back in the late 90s when he was with Derby City Welding.

Thats why i asked the question
quote:

Has there evee been a derb with this little of horses runnin?
and you proceeded to act like a douche and say "its funny or whatever that people think 18 is a small field" you could have simply answered, instead of acting all high and mighty like watching horse racing every week gives you some sort of big dick.

Oh… I have a huge dick. There are some around these parts who call me chief?

Anyway, your question did not come off as truly sincere and even a 14 horse field is a big field.

I mean it was a simple question

even a 14 horse field is a big field.

I understand this. While i dont watch it every week. I do bet on horse racing several times a year. I was just asking was there a ky derby with less than 18

Normally, I'd be surprised to see something like this from someone as lovely of a poster as aspy, but alas, it's 2023 and I'm more inclined to believe you now.

I lean into the male insults now. I guess my username is masculine.

I think it's more the high likelihood that 99% of the posters on this site are male.

A little salty for Derby Day, isn’t it folks?

It’s all good. Yes it’s a smaller field, but not extraordinary. I’m sure there’s a jockey or trainer who’d appreciate a few less horses participating. Let’s just hope it’s a safe trip and everyone is sound when it’s all over.
