and rape and sexual assault aren't the same thing....
they both aren't cool, but not the same thing. Like said in all the posts above. None of us were there, and it sounds like a girl was a little to drunk and had some very regrettable sex.

The verbiage is nuts b/c it all sounds the same to me, but the main idea is if someone did it with intent to humiliate and leave with feelings of guilt it's rape...... both have forced penetration.
In some definitions there's whether it's forced vs the chick said no, but didn't stop it either.
It's all fricked up.

Tampa, Florida - Speaking from her home in Tampa Bay, the mother of the accuser in the Florida State University alleged sexual assault case was succinct and polite.
She told 10 News exclusively that her daughter "was not feeling well, and was running a fever" when we asked if the young woman wanted to make a statement and share her side of the story.
The accuser's mother said questions will be answered on Friday at a 10 a.m. press conference with the family attorney.
Related story: 911 call released in Jameis Winston investigation
The alleged victim in this case accuses FSU quarterback Jameis Winston of raping her a year ago. However, the state attorney cited lack of evidence and declined to file sexual battery charges against Winston. The decision was announced last week at a press conference in Tallahassee.
However, that is clearly not the end of it.
We asked the accuser's mother about specific details, in particular what would be discussed at an upcoming press conference on Friday.
The FSU student's mother said, "It's gonna be good. I can't really say more than that. But, I can say it's gonna be good."
So, what exactly does that cryptic statement mean?
Many people are pondering that very question, and most lean toward the possibility of a civil lawsuit filed by the family, although that has not been confirmed.
10 News spoke with numerous attorneys, and they all agree that a civil lawsuit is the likely choice. "That would be the next natural step," said one lawyer. "The burden of proof is much lower."
The question is: if a civil suit is filed, who would be the defendant? Would it include Jameis Winston, the university, FSU Police and Tallahassee Police? Could the accuser go after Winston's future earnings?
It remains to be seen. The details will be discussed Friday when the accuser's attorney holds the press conference at 10 a.m.

Very Very Interesting indeed.
I understand she's defending her daughter. But I wish she worded it better than that.
Tough choice though. Will they go after Jameis or the TPD for the civil suit?

This. I believe the accuser's attorney is continuing to push for her interest. It appears she sees this as her Johnny Cochran opportunity.
The parents want money and the aunt wants fame, that's all there is to this shite now. The girl will get somebody to write some dumbass book same with the aunt in a couple years so they can profit even more. This shite is as transparent as clean air.

This just seems like a weird thing to say. Seems like it will be the circus that was the Meggs press conference. Oh well, I will be tuning in. Anyone know if ESPN or anyone else will carry this?
