Lawrence’s rookie year was about the worst situation imaginable for a young QB to be in on and off the field

it paled in comparison to mac jones second year situation. thats just facts. No OC, no QB coach, no WRs ro RBs who would start for any of your divisional rivals, injured right before a slate of weak opponents that your backup got to feast on to start a qb controversy, etc etc. impossible situation

Fields is not good and anyone paying attention knew this back when he was at Ohio State.

100%

His biggest defenders can recite his stats from the Sugar Bowl against Clemson when he was heaving jump balls up to elite WRs. But their eyes glaze over when you bring up the national championship against Bama or the B1G championship against Northwestern.

He's a great athlete who can't read defenses and has shaky accuracy, at best. It's year 3 and he hasn't improved at all.

Now let’s do stats for the last two years:

Lawrence
10-8; 411 completions on 616 attempts; 66.7% completion; 4,354 yards; 27 TDs; 9 INTs; 95.7 QB Rating; 312 yards rushing and 5 rushing TDs.

Jones
6-9; 323 completions on 496 attempts; 65.1% completion; 3,313 yards; 17 TDs; 12 INTs; 85.5 QB Rating; 117 yards rushing and 1 rushing TD.

Jones had a better rookie year. But Lawrence has gotten better and made a Pro Bowl where Jones got benched for Bailey Zappe.

The bears have designed the worst possible offense. I assume because he doesn't want to run the football. If they knew that they were doing they would do what the colts and eagles are doing.

Maybe he can claim racism again by the Bears to get himself released or traded to another team.
