How do you factor in the value of a slot on the team at Alabama or Auburn too?

The training, resources, and exposure are worth a lot of money - and worth much more than the same position at a place like ODU.

I’m realizing that a lot of people appear to think that the Kavanaugh concurring opinion was the actual opinion. The Court’s decision doesn’t go as far as Kavanaugh’s concurrence.

It’s worse, publications are actually publishing and promoting Kavbaw’s concurrence as if it’s the actual opinion over Gorsuch’s opinion, weird

European model for college sports

The European model is youth development programs at the club level, which means that every NFL and NBA team would be recruiting 11-year-olds and fielding academy squads.

Frankly, I'm all for it, because it takes the BS out of the equation. It is at least honest about what's going on.

At what point does this same ruling make its way to high school sports? Look at Allen High School In Texas for example. 60 million dollar stadium. 22k seats. They are 53-0 all time at home in the new stadium. How much money are these kids making the school? Hundreds of thousands of dollars...millions? Most of them are legal working aged kids. Are they entitled to the same type of compensation? Especially the kids that are 18. This whole thing just blew up the entire system. The unintended consequences are going to be massive!!!

That's a new one. When a European soccer club signs a youth player, the player doesn't pay for their own development. The club makes an investment in that player by paying and developing them.

This is going to be the end of college athletics and most likely going to impact women the most when they demand to be paid as much as the football players and the schools just stop fielding any team sport that doesn’t make enough money to sustain itself.

All these people will no longer get scholarships anymore either.
