Not a big fan of Barett the Ohio state QB but how are these guys drafted and not him.
Danny Etling - Transferred from Purdue to LSU : 14 - 242-60.3-2234-9.2-14
Tanner Lee - Nebraska QB - 246-428-3143-57.5-7.34-80-23-16
JT Barett broke all of Drew Brees and Ohio State's QB records, went 3-0 against Michigan how do they get drafted before him?
Big Ten records for career total offensive yards (12,697), touchdown passes (104), touchdowns responsible for (147) and player of the week awards (nine);
Ohio State passing records for career completion percentage (63.5), touchdown passes (104), passing yards (9,434) and passing yards per game (188.7);
Ohio State career total offense records for most 200-, 300- and 400-yard games and for average total yards per game at 253.9; and
The Ohio State record for quarterback rushing yards (3,263), and his 43 touchdowns scored are fifth-most at Ohio State, trailing only Pete Johnson, Keith Byars, Eddie George and Ezekiel Elliott.

I think him being a terrible qb was problematic for some nfl teams.

Doesn’t Barrett have bad shoulders or am I making that up?

He will be in a camp somewhere as an arm at least
Remember how TJ Yates went to combine just as a thrower for WR workouts

Exactly. Always funny when people use college numbers to predict NFL success.

Must be something that kept teams away

It will be interesting to see how well all these QB adjust to a much larger football than they used in college.

He was a solid runner that could make some throws in crunch time and was the ultimate gamer.
He has accuracy and arm strength issues. If you excel at one of those, teams will take a chance, not lacking both.

I mean I know he's not the best QB out there but Etling and Tanner Lee over the greatest QB in one of the most storied college programs of all time?
Go ask the Nebraska fans about Tanner Lee. I think its just weird that they were drafted over JT, I mean to beat Brees's passing records means you have some talent.

Did Jeremiah Briscoe get drafted?

He started for four years in a high tempo offense.
Troy Smith barely got a look and he was a Heisman winner with a much better arm.

He was better then Danny etling for Christ sake

Cant tell if serious?
Barett is not NFL caliber. If people are questioning Lamar Jackson, hell, if Braxton Miller couldnt make it as a QB no way in hell Barett does.
You see him against Clemson a couple years ago? Holy shite.

You only watched his highlights I’m assuming. After the injury he looked really bad for significant stretches.

The one that led to the “qb controversy”
Posted on 4/28/18 at 6:43 pm to Hoops
He was Big Ten QB of the year for two years after that.
He was a great college quarterback. Let's not get carried away with your buckeye hatred.

He signed with the Colts btw

Etling was one of the worst QBs I’ve seen at LSU. I have no idea how he was drafted. That being said, JT Barrett was the equivalent of taking a skill player in NCAA football on PlayStation and putting him in at QB so you could beat defenders to the edge. Meanwhile you may go for 5/18 throwing the ball for 83 yards.
