But then why talk down on the other guy for giving his opinion that it's wrong?
Because it's against an undefeated conference champion so the resume with FSU is not similar due to Alabama's blemish. If we are going to do the song and dance about who we think is better then why isn't there more of an outrage about UGA not being ahead of Washington and Texas? Wouldn't you feel pretty comfortable making that assessment? Do you think Ohio State is better than those two teams as well and would have an argument?
I understand both sides of the argument as well, I land on the opposite side as you, just don't like the subjectivity and floating criteria

What’s really mind blowing to me is that most on here and most that follow the sport agree that Alabama is better than FSU. Most agree that a 12-1 SEC champion has a good enough resume to make the playoff. So with those two things being the case, why the outrage?

The fact that we have to have this much explanation over Alabama getting in lends credence to the fact that they shouldn’t have gotten in.
There would be just as much uproar if you had not included a one loss team from a conference that had won 15 of the last 18 titles and had more teams in the CFP finals than total number of games played.
You have the top team from four of the five P5 conferences. The SEC is inarguably the top conference in college football, even if 2023 was a down year. To exclude the conference from a CFP would be at least as bad as excluding FSU.

Yeah, I’m not too thrilled with this. It’s fricking bullshite.

Pate’s girlfriend was also a recruiting staffer for Bama….of course he’s going to be all over Bama.

Just, no...to all of this.

Probably because Alabama didn’t do enough on the field to justify jumping FSU considering that FSU didn’t lose and is a P5 conference champion, while Alabama did lose.
That’s why they call losses “blemishes” on your record. You fricked it up.

No there wouldn’t have. What’s the legitimate argument? The fact that that arse clown Boo Corrigan had to go so in depth in explaining their bullshite lends credence to the argument that they fricked FSU.

No, I don't think I'll be spending any time teaching you what words mean. Thanks for the offer, though.
Because that was word salad and you can’t articulate it into a coherent thought. Your opinion is your opinion and mine is mine. They are opinions, not facts.

No to what?
That there have been 9 CFP championship games played in which an SEC team has made 10 appearances?
The 15 of last 18 titles? Yeah, I did frick that one up. Its 13 of last 17. My apologies.
That the SEC is the best conference in college football, with 2023 being something of a down year?
The SEC being excluded in lieu of FSU making it would be similarly unfair was obviously an opinion upon which reasonable people are expected to disagree. The rest is irrefutable.

Oh so you’re retarded? That explains much.

I think he tries a little too hard to be “the adult in the room” with some of his takes at times. But if he does it’s only because he is trying in good faith to reach the rational, logically correct conclusions at all times.
At least, within what he’s allowed to say. I don’t think his bosses would let him riff on TV execs for ruining the sport lol. Which is the actual reason FSU was left out.
This anger just seems misplaced. Within the limits of being bought and paid for by a big media company partly responsible for wrecking the sport, he gives you about the best analysis you can get. If you really want to be principled then go find some guy on YouTube with 500 subscribers who’s bankrolling his own show. It’ll probably be horrible quality hot takes that make you feel good but don’t actually educate you.

I am not the one having an internet aneurism over a #4 vs #5 CFP selection process.
How about this. Do you believe conference affiliation should have no bearing on the selection process? I wouldn't have excluded FSU in lieu of Bama either, but to say a one loss SEC champion that just ended the 29 game winning streak of an SEC team that was two time defending champion is no comparison to an undefeated ACC champion is silly. And you know it.

Alabama will need to play its best game.
It hasn't been a great team almost all year.

Texas will beat Bama again when they play. It’s a no brainer.

Sure.
And not much different than the simple math that shows the SEC (and Big 10 for that matter) is a much better conference than the ACC. The difference is, I am not the one claiming that one of these two facts is irrelevant. I never said that an undefeated FSU wasn't worthy, only that a one loss SEC team is slightly more worthy. It would suck no matter who was chosen but at the end of the day its a #4 vs #5 argument.
