re: Josh Pate deepthroating that Alabama dong

Pate was also correct on something I’ve been saying for weeks. The rankings leading up to yesterday had their predictions baked in. If 5 and 6 Texas and Bama move up there’s a lot less outrage. Both teams had a better body of work than Oregon, but the committee was adamant that Oregon was better than Washington and expected them to beat them. They botched the rankings from the very beginning and used different criteria to rank teams differently

They also supposedly fell on their faces leaving Florida State in the top four after Travis was injured.
It's almost like that isn't the reason they left Florida State out after all...

Thank you for admitting that the committee has 0 legitimacy.

You keep jumping from thread to thread repeating the same thing, but ignoring documentation from the committee that suggests you are wrong.

If you make a 100% on a math test with 3rd grade multiplication problems and I make a 98% on an advanced trigonometry test, that doesn’t make you better at math by default. There was a large discrepancy in the strength of schedule between Alabama and Florida state. You can say that isn’t their fault and I wouldn’t argue, but it’s still a fact.
Some of y’all have gotten waaaay too comfortable with the term “power 5” like there are 5 equal entities. It’s not the case and never has been

They were undoubtedly hoping it would all work itself out like it always does. They didn’t want the outrage if it wouldn’t be necessary in the end, that’s where they failed at their job. They got it right in the end but failed miserably week to week to come to that conclusion and they did that because they were projecting

But not undefeated.

You argue that the H2H winner MUST get the nod when the guidelines don’t say that. You don’t want to talk about SOS being on that same list of criteria, and when forced to, you make an embarrassing argument that one game means more than a full season. Now you follow me here and demand to get rekt again.

I find it incredible that there’s folks that actually believe this.

No, they didn't.

And? It was the 55th toughest schedule in the country. That takes a bit of the shine off undefeated to me. Again, you scored 100 on an easy test and Bama scored a 98 on a hard one. I’m not arguing that FSU didn’t do all they could or didn’t get screwed, but I still believe Alabama was a better selection for the 4 team playoff. Someone was going to get screwed when you had 5 or 6 teams with good case.

It's been so weird watching you singlehandedly try to spin this into "Muh Texas Screwed FSU, not Bama."

they’re scared Bama will win it.
Well, this is not a prevalent thought amongst those that I know
Actually, most LSU fans would immediately trade AL winning it all if it brought about Saban's retirement.
We're ready for Bama's Miles

It’s consistent with what I was saying leading up to Saturday. I’ve always said if Bama, Texas, and FSU win then FSU is in and Bama should get nod over Texas.

Better selection has nothing to do with it.

You have your opinion and I have mine. I wouldn’t be banging on the table in outrage if FSU got the 4 spot. I’d be upset, I’d disagree, but could reason with the logic of FSU getting in. 5 teams had a strong case. I could’ve seen the logic for and against any of the 5 being left out aside from Washington
Posted on 12/4/23 at 1:32 pm to Jon Ham
That doesn't change what I said.
Posted on 12/4/23 at 1:33 pm to Riseupfromtherubble
My opinion is correct.
It's not that Bama didn't deserve a playoff spot. It's that there were only four, and Bama was 5th in line.
