Scott Boras clients this off-season:
Blake Snell 2 years 62 million
Cody Bellinger 3 years 80 million
Jordan Montgomery 1 year 25 million
Matt Chapman 3 years 54 million
Jung Hoo Lee 6 years 113 million

Snell reportedly asked for 270 million, Bellinger 200 million, Montgomery 170 million, and Chapman 150 million.

Yankees offered Snell 6 years, 150 million
Blue Jays offered Chapman 125 million last year, and the A's offered 150 million in 2019.

I'm not a Scott Boras fan, but can you blame the guy for trying to get the most money possible for his clients? Sure those asking prices are a tad outlandish, but why not try? In the long run, if one team is dumb enough to meet his asking price then he wins. If they don't, they are all still multimillionaires with a multimillionaire agent.

Essentially, all of them got 1-year deals if they perform, and they will be back on the market next off-season if they want to be. Will things be better? Maybe since teams will have more clarity due to the TV deals falling apart this past season.

Indeed they have. Not a bad time to be a Dbacks fan, as they have a nice young ball club.

This is a good thing for fans. As player salaries skyrocket, so does the cost of being a fan (ticket prices, for example).

The Mets not driving the price up on every player really hurt most guys hitting the market this offseason
