Hahaaa there it is. I guess y'all really believe this.
All the boys programs draw kids that play football, it's quite a large talent pool.
JC softball would compete in 5a. Girls go there to play just like football
So that's a horrible excuse.
Girls basketball is struggling right now in 2a, even though they won a title last year, but that was their first. Baseball hasn't won in a decade, boys basketball, with all these football players you are saying contribute to the team, won their FIRST TITLE EVER last year, softball is good, but that is because those girls play year round and dont do any other sports at Curtis (which hurts the pool for the other sports), wrestling hasn't won a title, and track can compete with the small schools but wouldn't be able to beat the top 5a schools, even with all those football players that you think are so magnificent.

then why did some 5a programs go ape shite when curtis wanted to play 5a football.. and the whole play in your class war started...
and you know which schools that was... make no mistake about it.

When did Curtis ever want to play 5a? Lol
They sat comfortably in 4a for a while wheb they could have played up. Their championships would have been dramatically reduced that's why.

I'd really like to hear why, if Curtis can field amazing teams in other sports with their football players, they only won their first basketball title ever last year and why baseball hasn't done anything recently, and why wrestling hasn't won a title before?

back when the play in your class got started.... they wanted to play 5a football and enrollment or 1 above in everything else.. and some catholic league folks crapped in their drawers.... it's not hard to see... Shaw, Holy Cross, Brother Martin and St. Aug have all played Curtis... it's easy to see who wanted/wants no part of them.

John Curtis is the metro king of JV football. They just get held back every year and never get to the big boy field.

The white football players at Curtis have always been better baseball players than football players. Why aren't they better? Because they treat it as a seasonal sport. Football is pressed upon them as the main priority.
Same can be said about basketball. How good can you really be when you put it on the back burner

Year ago John Curtis (the guy who started the school) requested that the only way JC would move up would to be to play in the Catholic league and it was shot down by the catholic schools.

How many baseball products does curtis put out year in year out?

The fact of the matter is that the same thing happens at the 5a schools but the 5a schools have enough enrollment to have guys who train for their respective sports year round. You have a few multi sport athletes but most basketball and baseball guys in 5a are basketball and baseball only. That is the key difference. JC would not b able to compete with that.

You have a pitcher here and there but honestly, not many.

Yeah but it took the whole crew to be okay with it. Tierney was one crazy SOB. Have you ever heard him talk? He also loved playing good teams because I think he liked the hype.

Lester the molester, just when I thought I was starting to like you and you were beginning to be reasonable. Ok, do me a favor. Take all of Rummel's enrollment and chop it down to 15% of what it is now and now take 5% of that and make it girls from Chapelle. Now play on the 5A level and go get em Champ! Let's see how bright that light blue color shines!?

And someone earlier posting about JC recruiting, the talk from the playgrounds is BM and Rummel are the teams recruiting the most out of the parks now, not JC. And Rummel has hit the westbank up really hard lately.

They could put out a lot of baseball players if they focused on it. Most of the white players will never play at the next level in football but could in baseball if they played more.
They have 3-4 guys annually with enough talent to play in college. Some years more

well if rummel were curtis, it'd be the same 10%ers still enrolled at the school that play ball.
Posted on 12/11/12 at 10:02 am to Lester Earl
The white guys? This guy is unbelievable! We have plenty of "white players" that just love to play ball and want to be Champs! Most of the people that play football at Curtis are over achievers and should never be able to do what they do before JT gets ahold of them. The difference is Jay Roth has plenty enough talent, probably more than Curtis, but just can't quite make use of it
