He never seemed able to win the "big" games. I'm not knocking him... just stating an opinion, fwiw.

Those guys lost some heart breakers in the playoffs. They are usually the most talented team in Ouachita Parish lately, imo.

Carr is a good man. I respected him during his first stint at OPHS as a staff member and heard he was a good HC, but you cannot let kids like Cam Rob leave OPHS, no matter what the reason.

Foster would appear to be a prime candidate. They need some of those basketball players to start playing football too.

They also need to shut down Richwood and get back to the Ouachita glory days. The Big O + The Wood = unstoppable.

They won so many state championships during those years.

Here we go with the state titles thing. I can tell you this, you keep Ouachita and Richwood together as well as the coaches that left Ouachita for Kilgore and WM and the Rebels don't have near the numbers they do now. People seem to forget that WM had their struggles with Ouachita back in the day.

Wrong guy CC. I'm JF. Dodd is a former Big O guy too.

Edit- I guess I was the wrong JF because you played before me.

well yeah when you're supposed to be one of West Monroe's biggest rivals, it'd help to win one every now and then if you have the same advantages they have

the players thought he was an absolute joke. They want Foster.
Foster tried hard for the Sterlington job. I think he'll get it and the players will be excited about that.

Hearing from players over the past few years about Carr's behavior on the sidelines, it's probably a good thing he's gone.

I've said it before, but I never lost to West Monroe. I actually lived in WM and attended Ouachita even though my dad coached at WM and my sister and brother attended school there. West Monroe started beating Ouachita after Vallery, Stone, Coach Shake, Shelby Ainsworth as well as some others moved on, some of which moved to West Monroe.

Ouachita is actually at a disadvantage when compared to WM. Ouachita has 1 feeder school and that's Ouachita Jr. High. WM has 3 Jr. High feeder schools so you have 33 guys on each side on the ball with starting exp when they get to HS compared to 11 on each side with Ouachita. So yes, if things were even I would agree with you but at the current time they aren't.

being from Monroe, yes he could of done better but he did not "suck." It's hard to compete with Neville and West Monroe.

Meh. Every year since 95 there has been an excuse as to why OPHS fell short in football. The only fresh air they had since they was when John King ran the show for Collins. They left and saw the light in Longview and beat WM and Evangel numerous times. Excuses like this are why the football program won't get over the hump, IMO.

We still have more talent than west Monroe damn near every year. I don't know what the problem is, so I always assume coaching. It sucks but that is the reality of it.

They just need to beat West Monroe, that's the only problem. Once they get over that hump Ouachita will be great.
