Let's do a hypothetical:

Brad Wing walks into the LSU locker room one evening because he forgot his wallet and needs it before he goes on a date with 4 co-eds.

He is surprised to see a former LSU assistant coach in the locker room shower having sex with a 10 year old boy.

Wing, being from Australia and not knowing what to do when this happens in America, runs out and calls his dad. Dad says, damn son, you need to tell your coach. It is a little late, just wait until tomorrow.

Next day, Wing goes to Les' house and tells him the story. The next day, Les calls the AD and tells him. AD says we will handle this.

AD and VP of school meet with Wing to get the story of the boy rape.

AD and VP tell the former LSU assistant coach, don't bring anymore kids with you on campus.

Nothing ever happens and Les and Wing see the former coach hanging around kids on campus.

You think Les did what he needed to do and deserves to coach 1 more game before stepping down?

You honestly think that is what is going on here?

So basically, nothing happens to Joe Pa, woo-hoo!

The differences are obvious. He passed Robinson and he can't even stand on the sidelines anymore. He had already picked a successor but now that's obviously going to go out the window.

Now I want to see how the administration handles getting a new coach & AD in place going forward.

AND where is Spanier? I wanted him gone years ago. Time to finish what they started and get him gone.

You've got to nuke it. New President, new AD, new Head Coach, all new 12 or however many assistants. Nuke the entire thing. No other choice.

I guess it is senseless to argue with you with your view. I just hope your kids if you have any or your family’s kids have better people around them who would do more to make sure a rapist is stopped then what you think is “acceptable”. If you could have any notion of how much damage this does to a child, what damage they walk around with day in and day out every day of their life for the rest of their life, you would think differently. You would agree that anyone with even a suspicion should make sure “EVERYTHING” that could be done to stop it is done.

Hell, if they wanted to make sure their suspicions where right, they could have hired a private investigator to check out sandusky. Pretty sure shite would have turned up quick. They just wanted him not to be on their campus doing it, and to fade away.

You have no idea how much I am praying for this.

We need a real coach that can build from the ground up. He's going to have to bring his people in and he's going to have to recruit above the tarnished image.

So far from what I've heard none of our 16 commits have bailed yet but I'm worried for obvious reasons.

What facts in between would you need to know?

Me either. I am not suggesting that anyone do that.

Grand Jury testimony is speculation and hypothetical?

Now you want to villify Paterno because you don't like the way his bosses handled it???? Ridiculous.
If this story weren't so tragic, I would laugh at anyone who suggested that Paterno had bosses at PSU.

He's not anymore. He screwed up and now he will pay for it with his legacy.

That's just the truth. Sorry if you want it to be different.

What speculations or hypotheticals, everyone knows what Joe knew because he testified to it. And based on that he knew and didn't do anything past telling schultz and curly, is why people think he should be fired.

We aren't basing he should be fired off any guesses.

AS I have said earlier, this is a grad assistant going against a pillar in the society over something that will end up being very he said he said. He handled it the best way he figured he could while keeping his career in tack, by telling his bosses boss and expecting it to be dealt with

Bull fricking shite. Had he stopped the act or even immediately called 911, the cops would have shown up. McQueary was an eyewitness to what happened, not to mention the fact that Sandusky and the child would both be wet from the shower. I'm sure some DNA evidence would have been collected also.

He was provisionally cleared of any illegality and has not been targeted by the DA. He wasn't cleared of any wrongdoing. Doing the legally required minimum isn't always sufficient to maintain your employment when human decency demands more.

as I have been saying for days, yes, this is totally acceptable. So is calling the cops. I don't see either as "doing the wrong thing".

No, it is not acceptable. You report crimes, particularly crimes of this nature to the police, not to your boss.
