joe pa telling the board what to do. pretty brash from the old man to tell them to stop wasting time on him and he will retire at the end of the season when he wants.

Blue Out on Saturday:

quote:

In light of the numerous counts of sexual abuse recently charged against former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, wear blue to the Nebraska game to support the victims of child abuse worldwide. Penn State has a strong tradition of integrity and solidarity to uphold-- let's make national news not only for the scandal, but for our collective actions to show support for the victims, and be proud again to say WE ARE PENN STATE!

Even if you can't make the game, attend the event to show your support.

Statistics: It is estimated that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will have experienced an episode of sexual abuse while younger than 18 years. The numbers of boys affected may be falsely low because of reporting techniques (Botash, Ann, MD, Pediatric Annual, May, 1997).

Probably a compromise they were willing to accept at this point ant time. Remember, PSU has many more problems than when JoPa will coach his last game. In a legal sense.

They're fricked from a legal sense no matter what.

At this point, they may as well start the image rehab they're going to need from a PR sense.

That means tossing JoePa and McQueary ASAP along with the school president and anyone else from that timeframe still around.

For the thousands of people that have nothing to do with these allegations it's a nice gesture.

Doesn't make a lick of sense.

Not much the students can do. I think it is a decent and small gesture by the student body. Of course, if Paterno and McQueary haven't been removed, a better gesture is a walk out.

I'm not so sure about that

I believe that. Those Penn State coaches and administators look out for one another.

Probably so, but I am sure this was some compromise. Hell, JoPa may have more dirt on them. Who knows? I think it was probably a move to find middle ground to appease all involved.

I don't think they've accepted it, and I'd be shocked if they let him coach this Saturday.

I agree. I'm not sure, though, saying "hey, look, we're wearing our team colors, of the team whose locker room has been used as a kiddie raping dungeon for the past 15-20 years, to honor victims of child sexual abuse" is trying to do something that makes any sense at all.

There is some kind of blue ribbon that says "Stop Child Abuse." I have no idea if that has something to do with it or if PSU just created that on their own.

They're also selling t shirts for 100 percent of the proceeds to go to Prevent Chid Abuse PA.

Yeah, but I'd bet some students are doing this to justify their unconditional support of Paterno.

"Yeah I support JoePa no matter what! And that's okay because I'm wearing blue!"
