Jerry and Brian Colangelo ruined the “Process” that Henkie designed for the 76ers

Hinkie has them ready to be a force for years to come.

Already had
Embiid
Covington
Saric

Multiple high picks

Lots of cap space

Somehow the Colangelos have destroyed the hope of the franchise despite having the second best player in the East this year.

Imagine this team with Tatum instead of getting nothing from Fultz.

Brand has taken it a step further by ruining all cap flexibility with the Al Horford deal after maxing our Tobias Harris.

Ben and Joel's fit together wouldn't be any better if Hinkie was still there and Saric is just a guy. If anything he should be viewed as a failure of Hinkie's since they took him directly before Zach Lavine and TJ Warren.

Carter-Williams and Noel sure lit the world on fire. Saric hasn’t amounted to much outside of being a role player.

There are a lot of things to blame Sixers FO for, like the Harris/Horford contracts.

But Fultz was widely considered the best prospect by fans, scouts, talking heads, etc. It's revisionist history to suggest otherwise.

Fultz was a poor fit for the team though

And the Horford/Harris contracts have completely inhibited the growth of that team

Ehhh I don't know about that. He would've been a great secondary playmaker. He shot over 40% from 3 in college on over 5 attempts a game. If he didn't break down, he could've been good playing off ball and handling some of the PG duties.

Yep. Fultz flopping for them was just incredibly bad luck not overdrafting a guy who was projected all over a wide range like the Cavs did with Bennett.

Simmons and Embiid work if positions 2-4 are all 35%+ 3 point shooters.

Miami is doing it with Butler and Bam and Embiid and Simmons are far more talented.

I said this yesterday. That big collared weirdo Colangelo was a disaster and it’s a shame the NBA basically forced him into that role simply due to his father. Brand hasn’t been much better with the Horford and Harris contracts either imo

Heinke should’ve been able to see tProcess all the way through. I guarantee they would be a far more serious contender than currently constructed

wasn’t that long ago that they were tanking for 1st pick in the lottery

now that they’ve struck out on some of their draft picks and four of their top paid players can’t shoot the ball outside of 10 ft consistently it’s probably time to blow up the team and try again

Sixers ownership is a joke. They didn’t even want to fire Colangelo but knew they had to. Kept his entire front office so they ended up with a GM like Brand, who had no experience.

In Hinkie's defense, the plan wasn't to nail superstars with every pick. The plan was to play the numbers game against the lottery format to give you as many bites at the apple to land a franchise as possible. They actually landed two in Ben & Joel. The problem is the two franchise players they landed could not be worst fits for one another. That's just some bad luck right there.

Definitely have some valid points, but I don't think there was any talk of Tatum being the possible #1 pick at the time? It just wasn't a great draft to have the top pick in.
