It's pretty simple:

If Harden had given half a shite about defense OKC would have maxed him in a heartbeat.

You say some really, really dumb shite every now and then.

I'm not saying they are going to swallow their whistles. I'm saying that they won't get bailed out as much due to the exposure, and that the other team will get the same respect the Rockets do when it comes to the foul calls. Little things like those Harden grab fouls, and Howard getting away with murder when he's in foul trouble in the regular season simply won't fly.
That's just not true. I watched the Rockets last year vs. OKC in the playoffs. The games were called like they always are.

And lol at Howard getting away with murder. You clearly do not watch the Rockets, because Howard is like Shaq in the sense that teams have to really foul the crap out of him before the ref will give him a call.

It's like you are basing everything you know about the Rockets off of the few games they played against the Pelicans.

It's because he's salty about the trade and has to say stupid shite to convince himself that it wasn't that bad.

OKC is going in the luxury tax next year. It's happening. They signed Ibaka and were willing to go into the tax with their offer to Harden.

They easily would have maxed Harden had he been committed to playing D.

I have no idea why this statement rustles the jimmies of the Rocketards so much. Dude doesn't play D. Is what it is.

A likely 1st team all-NBA player, but he's not worth the max because of his defense.

Yet he's a top 5 player in the league according to some Rockets fans.

If you are in elementary school and are told to stay on your man 100% of the time.

But man defense really isn't about staying on your man 100% of the time.

When the ball is 2 or more passes away from your man, you sink to the middle of the floor and keep and eye on both your man on one side, and the ball on the other.

This is so you can play help defense if you need to and somebody else can rotate to your man and close out on him if they kick it out to him.

...on a team that already has 2 max players (both of which do bust their asses on defense). OKC isn't hurting for scoring with or without Harden.

Easily a top 5 scoring player but not top 5 overall.

And so they traded him for Steven Adams and Jeremy Lamb.

Great alternative.

It doesn't "rustle jimmies". There's not a team in the NBA who wouldn't give Harden a max deal today. OKC made a stupid move. They could still win it all, but they traded a superstar for nothing. Saying it was because of his defense is something that you threw out a month ago to save face. It makes you look worse than just admitting it was a bad trade.

Adams is well on his way to being a solid center.

Lamb struggled in the latter half of the year but I still think he can be a good 7th man.

They got K-Mart for a year in which they were much more efficient on offense than they had been with Harden previously.

They'll continue to sign veteran shooters going forward, like Caron Butler, who are seeking rings. Similar to the Spurs and Heat.

Answer me this: how many teams have won a championship with 3 max players?

And saying Steven Adams is "nothing" shows me you have not a clue about the NBA.

Ok, so if the Rockets were the ones who drafted Harden and OKC drafted Adams and Lamb, and Houston decides to trade Harden for Adams and Lamb, that would be a fantastic trade in your opinion?
