I mean Winston said he went into buy cake one time and as he was checking out the employee said when you shop here I got you. Now IMHO, if Winston then came back and went to the back of the store in the parking lot and accepted the crab legs, that would make me think he knowingly knew the guy was stealing them. But by walking straight to the counter and leaving out the front door makes me think he thought the guy was buying them for him because he was the heisman QB. I dont see that as a ridiculous possibility

When did Jameis intend to pay for it? He had previously met someone who said I'll hook you up bro.

He went to the publix with intentions of getting his crab legs. When did this thing happen where Winston wanted to pay for his crab legs before the nice man at the counter said no, you don't have to pay for that...?

And properly paid for the Cake. At that time, someone said I got you when you shop here. The way he came into the middle of the store and walked out the front door leads me to believe he thought he was legally getting free crab legs from the employee. Im sorry you cant grasp that simple concept

Possibility? Yes. Ridiculous for Windton to think? YES.

I swear to god if someone at Publix tells me I have the hookup here's some seafood I'm gonna find the nearest person in power and ask if this shite is for real.

You think it is that preposterous for the FSU Heisman QB to have someone give him free food in Tallahassee? He isnt some loser TD poster like us.

Because if the grocery store employee gives you something and doesn't OK it with management, it's called stealing.
how so? That's nonsense.

I thought it was common knowledge that he wasn't stealing it in the "traditional" sense of the word. One manager told him he could have em any time he came in, but that manager wasn't in the store that day.

If I'm at a restaurant or anywhere, and the support staff tells me I can have something free, I'm not confirming with the story owners, nor is any of us.

At a Publix? Yes it's preposterous.

Would you accept a computer from a Best Buy employee who said he'd give ya the hookup? It's the same exact thing.

For the people comparing a retail store to a restaurant, they are not even close to the same thing.

Food gets comped at a restaurant all the time for bad service, etc.

Grocery stores aren't handing out free crab legs for the hell of it.

They don't understand that it's the legal equivalent of the employee stealing and giving the goods to Jameis. He's knowingly accepting stolen goods.

ETA: Unless the owner of the store himself gave them to him.

Even then it's still an NCAA violation.

If I am the Stud QB, I find it normal a Publix employee would want to pay for $20 crab legs for me. Wouldnt think that was out the ordinary at all. A best buy employee paying for a $500 computer, is a lot different.

Consider it a homework assignment to figure out how being gifted a $500+ computer with accompanying barcodes, etc. is different than receiving a handful of crablegs from the dude at the seafood counter.

He walked up and took the food off the shelf and walked out with it. You just said that the worker wasn't even there even if he wanted to pay for the items and give them to him.

The items were stolen. Plain and simple.

No one paid for shite and the worker wasn't there. Are you dense dude?
