Miles has a habit of giving players limited touches and rotating players due to depth. The more Lache has the ball the more effective he will be.

Well I doubt Oregon will be benching their redshirt freshman who had 1500 yards last year.

He was practicing at DB last year when walter thurmond went down cause he was recruited as an athlete. I have wondered what they would do but I bet he stays put, Oregon just signed 6 DB's and cliff harris proved in a short period of time he will be a starter next year. Barner is great in the tzr position and lache can back him and james up next year. Oregon can give three guys some carries. Last year was the first time in years they relied pretty much on one guy but they were forced into it and low and behold james is a stud but I don't see him having 1500 yards again.

Personally, if I'm Kelly, having a backfield of James, Lache, and Dantae Williams would be more than adequate and allow Barner to probably play his most natural position, which is corner

I agree but I don't know if I want two true freshman to rely on in a very important year coming up, especially when neither will be here for spring ball and getting an early start. I want to see what happens after spring ball with the defense.

eta...the corner spots are covered, they need to fill in one safety spot. there are some players who should be ready to play that are juniors now. I like Barner where he is at because of his knowledge of the offense, he can be depended on.

James will probably carry the load like Blount would have had he not gotten suspended last season. James would have gotten around 10 carries a game at most if not for that.

The fact that the QB is so highly mobile will probably mean an even more decreased workload for the freshmen but I'm sure they will get their situational touches. I don't expect to see Barner in the fold at RB next season.

Let's hope he is successful and is drafted by the Saints in four years.

Probably pretty close.

It doesn't matter about masoli being mobile. The year before Johnson and Blount had over a 1000 yards apiece which was the third time in the decade they had two backs over a 1000. I am sure that is another reason Lache knew he could come and get some playing time. I am curious as to what happens with Barner, he is on the field at the same time as james when playing the tzr position so that is still an option. Either that or DB which I think they will be fine at. I wish lache was enrolling early so he would be more prepared if he does play.

I think the wildcard is Dantae and if the Ducks redshirt him or not. Otherwise if they don't, Kenjon seems to be heading back to Corner.

KB and Lache returning kickoffs next year would be pretty sweet.

I think he will, won't go into the season with a ton of backs. Still have Alston too who is a senior. I think Dontae and Huff redshirt.

If this is the case, Barner will FOR SURE stay on the offensive side of the ball. Chip will want to have both LMJ and Kenjon ready to roll in the beginning of the season and Lache gets worked in. Alston is only good for a couple late 4th quarter carries as a simple change of pace.

I think it is the smart thing to do, why have two true freshman who could frick things up when we can have one who gets some action and gets worked in while your experienced backs keep the offense going, the up coming season is too important to mess it up. The ducks have a chance to be the first team since themselves to repeat as pac ten champs besides SC this past decade.
