If the NBA was rigged, they wouldn’t be moving successful franchises from Seattle to tiny markets like OKC where they were dead last in attendance a couple of seasons ago. The David Stern AAA city model of the NBA isn’t congruent to them putting their thumb on the scale towards big market teams.

Can you show your work on the 200 coin flip equivalency?

How about we stick with the 100 coin flip example for simplicity.

In case my link doesn’t work, it’s 1 over 2 to the 100th power.

That’s many orders of magnitude beyond this discussion.

You'd have to add in the fact that. This happened and the two times the pelicans got #1. First with new ownership, then with the exit of Davis.

It makes a lot more sense if you believe that the NBA juices the odds of teams that have some big "transitory" event occur.... new owner, star leaves, star gets traded and there is massive blowback, etc.

Like the 4 years LeBron was in Miami when Cleveland had the #1 pick 3 out of the 4 years? Only for LeBron to go back and win a Championship.

There's video of the ping pong balls and the teams had tables showing which outcomes would give each team a specific top 4 spot so it wasn't rigged unless every team was in on it.

Video of the drawing:
