Go back and look at the thread. I talked about him at length. I am so fricking stupid.

Oddly run race
Couldn't believe they ran a 0:47+ 1/2mile with Chrome lurking
Yep. It's not like it was a field full of nobodys. When you have a horse with such all-around, complete skills you have to take some kind of tactic to neutralize him. They basically let him cruise to the win.

I think Secretariat's Belmont surpasses his Kentucky Derby, but that 1973 season was by far the most dominant anyone or anything has ever been.
All 3 races were amazing, but the moment that sticks out for me was the early part of the Preakness. He broke last and was last going into the 1st turn. By the time the turn was finished was went from last to first all in about 20 seconds of racing.
An absolutely amazing horse.

I had wps. His work Saturday was awful and he kept swapping leads so I dropped him in my box for fricking Danza. Just had Ed.
fricking Danza. I will continue to hate him for this.

So Commanding Curve is going yo win the Preakness?
Eh. He's got Ice Box written all over him.

Probably not. The Preakness is the shortest of the Triple Crown races. The Belmont would favor Commanding Curve with the way he closed, although California Chrome looked to have quite a bit left in the tank.

Who was last place? Anybody know?

Glad to see the FG horse do well.
For all the flack CD has gotten, FG had a strong meet I thought, with the exception of 3YO Turf. The racing was better this season than in prior seasons, imo.

We'll just blame Commanding Curve for being a deceiving bastard.

Let Buster do a line off your boner.

That would have paid for my next horse show

Now go ahead and win the Triple Crown, Chrome. Certainly has the heaving work behind him.
Not only did the 70s have 3 triple crown winners, it should have had 5. Spectacular Bid should have; and Riva Ridge would have won the Triple Crown in 72 (same connections as Secretariat) but for a muddy track in Baltimore.
