We are about 2weeks out. Time to start studying? Anyone got any thoughts?

I wish that I'd gotten a future bet in on California Chrome. Started following him at Del Mar last summer and he surprised the hell out of me by becoming a derby horse.

Wicked Strong paid back my loyalty in the wood after his horrible performance in the holy bull. As one of few closers this year he will be in any exotics I play.

I hope commanding curve gets in based off that same reasoning. Colt had a lot if trouble at fairgrounds this year and seems to be training well.

How did Danza end up winning the Arkansas Derby? Was he pulling away or did he close? I know he was not the favorite.

He was pulling away.

Definitely under my radar! But street boss is not who I think of when I think mile and a quarter (but neither is lucky pulpit, that's why cc has really surprised me). Danza has, IMO, a very ugly way of going.

Only future bet I've ever cashed was ill have another.

My future horses usually get hurt and don't even make the race.

Just watched a video of commanding curve working this am. I really hope he gets in.

Bluegrass winner dance with fate just declared in the derby. Horse hasn't won on dirt, but I just went back to watch his 2nd at Santa Anita in the front runner last fall. Didn't look too bad. Just got caught at the wire, and he's grown since then.

I think I'll be stealing the canadian's computer tonight and watch lots of past races.

Derby Saturday is my second favorite of the year. Next year I would like to take my mom there for Mother's Day.

I thought we'd have something running on the undercard, but we don't. I just decided to day to look for tickets and head up there.

Love the first Saturday in may

was looking at pp's yesterday

What a weak field, either Cali horse romps, or we get a Bomb who draws clear to win.

in case anyone wants probables for the derby day races, and their pp's, they be here:

Thanks! Last year was a weak field too. Will take charge and police malice are the only 2 really nice racehorses to come out.

Chrome looks like a potential super horse. He could be 5 lengths better than the rest. Now watch him get stuck with the one hole on a sloppy track.

I think Saamrat is the kind of "tough" horse that will be there at the end. I'm not throwing Cairo Prince out yet. Wicked Strong looked great in the Wood and the back story on him would be tremendous.

Saw Fate win the Bluegrass in person last weekend. Looked great, but form probably won't translate to the dirt.

Going to Keeneland tomorrow for the Lexington. Getting stoked. Great time of the year here.

Part of the reason Chrome looks so good, is because of how bad the field was in that race.

So we still don't know how good he really is. But he will suck up the money, and the cali money will come flooding in on him and Eurton(?)'s cali horse.

If you like any one else in field, your going to get very nice odds.

Was at the Arkansas derby last weekend and have watched every stakes race pretty much. A closer almost always wins the kentucky derby and I'm gonna go with ride on curlin. He continues to get better and better and better every race. Can't count out Todd pletcher and Danza though. Horse looked great.

Also, gotta love Cali chrome and wicked strong. I just don't think the front running Cali chrome can hold up on this stretch. Someone's gonna catch him from behind.

ETA: just announced borel will be on ride on curlin also.

Don't know about that being a weak field. Hoppertunity was second, and Chrome just toyed with him.
