I was glad to see Steve get the win. He's the reason we got a season to the stallion I bred to.

Dance with fate and California chrome arrived in Louisville just a little while ago.

Also, saw somewhere that intense holiday has been getting visits from the chiropractor. That and his most recent work shoot him way up on my list. I know how much that helps my horse.

A very wet week in Louisville. Track will not be fast, look for someone off the rail to win.

Going to my 10th Derby will be on the finish line in an infield suite!

Hoppertunity looked good in the mud today but Chrome is in town now and ready to go. Just from what I have read and seen on TV how could you not pull for Art Sherman. The man slept with Swaps for God sakes.

Hey, I know it's a few days early, but if anyone gets PP's for Oaks and Derby days, please send them to "northlagoomba@yahoo.com"

TIA

I'm waiting to see how the out of towners get over the track.

Glad everyone made it there safe with no flying issues.

Yes, long time FG trainer and brings his horses to NOLA to run. I bet him in the race, but really thought I got a break. I wouldn't have DQ'd the winner.

Eh, I may have. He did shove him out at least 3 paths.

Gotta ask. You have any connection to overbrook? Also, I'm not sure if I've seen you around here. Sometimes we have random gambling threads for bigger races.

No
The name comes from the villain in a pulp detective novel I like.
Cool I'll check out the threads as they happen.
HE did bear out. Considering the ping ponging in upper stretch (and I'd blame Steve's horse mostly for that)I'd have let it go. But I'm very laissez faire when it comes to takedowns.

Bump for weather update. Things looking much better. 30% chance of rain on Oaks day, around 60 degrees. Derby day will be dry, sunny, and about 70 degrees.

Gorgeous weather!

Apparently Cali chrome was not striding out well or moving fluidly on his gallop this morning. Hoping it was just the mud.

More bad press for Churchill. I love it! Hope it keeps pouring in.

Bad treatment of non derby owners
Bad treatment of secretariat's jockey

And Churchill's response:

LINK

and I'm in a definite bet against mode on Cal Chrome. My debate is whether to leave him out of 3rd and 4th as well.

Any particular reason you don't like Chrome? He beat some pretty nice horses in th SA DERBY. He seemed to have a lot left at the end.

Not sure why Commanding curve isn't getting any chat.

his race in La derby, 2nd off of a 3 month layoff was nice. Winner took lead, set easy lead and won by 5. He was closing, got hammered after turn, and made a nice run to miss 2nd by a length or so.

50/1??? He looks as good, as anyone not named Cali chrome. If your taking 6/1 or less for wicked ur a fool. He either gets floated 5-6 wide around turn, or he's dead last, 3-4 wide.
