Clemson quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei has partnered with Dr Pepper and will appear in its Fansville ad campaign throughout the college football season, the company announced Wednesday.

Uiagalelei will be the only active collegiate player featured in the Fansville commercials, which chronicle the lives of rival fans in a fictional college-football-obsessed town. Financial terms were not disclosed.

How is that fair to any other university whose star QB wasn't given same opportunity.

I mean… how fair is it to other universities that they don’t have as big a star player?

"Fair" has nothing to do with it.

How it is fair that Aaron Rogers has a sponsorship with State Farm but Mitch Trubisky doesn’t?

Yes. Looks like it's working fabulously.

At this point in his career, what % of Americans would you guess could accurately identify him?

My issue is guys who havent even taken a snap getting these deals.

That won't go over well in the locker rooms.

You have offensive lineman who spent 3 years working their asses off in the strength & conditioning programs, meeting rooms, practice field, who aren't going to see much, yet you have guys who haven't accomplished jack shite yet getting these deals.

I still remember my first ever team meeting at TCU. It was a meeting for all of the newcomers. Coach Patterson comes in the room and the first thing out of his mouth is that none of you have accomplished jack shite yet and you will have to earn respect around here. I don't give a shite what you did in high school or how good Rivals says you are.

Now imagine giving that talk to a room featuring a guy sitting there who already has 6 or 7 figure endorsement deals.

A large enough % of college football fans of who are the target market of college football themed Dr Pepper Commercials that air during college football games.

If anyone's performance suffers because of it, don't play them. Problem solved.

I think this will be consolidated at the top level of the sport and those schools will just operate in a different reality than the rest. I mean, they kind of already do.

I know a lot of fans hoped NIL would push more guys to go and be the big fish in a smaller pond, but I don't see it. Seems like the rich just getting richer.

bullshite. This might end up being a good deal for Dr. Pepper, but most of these guys getting endorsement deals are completely unrecognizable.

Huh, everyone had the opportunity.

How is it fair that David Griffin gets to be POBO of the New Orleans Pelicans and not me? Why wasn't I given the same opportunity!

That's fine. Dr. Pepper is banking on them being very recognizable very quickly. If the player doesn't pan out, they'll cut their losses and move onto someone else.

Why is that bullshite?

Everyone on this website know who he is.

Everyone who watches ESPN knows who he is.

If you watch college football you know who this guy is and he’s only going to get more well known.

We're pretty much going back to the time where all the big schools controlled all the talent. This is going to increase the gap 10 fold. College football as we knew it from 1973 to last year is forever gone.

I don’t see the broad appeal for national brand deals. Outside of rabid cfb fans, no one knows who he is and Clemson is disliked by the majority of the country.

It can be whatever the booster wants it to be.
